Golovkin v Rubio is a ratings hit

Golovkin v Rubio drew a healthy 1.3 million viewers on HBO making it the second highest boxing hit of the year. This is good news for Golovkin who continues to build momentum but is likely to still have to wait before getting a big name. He is targetting 4 fights in 2015 with Martin Murray rumoured to be next in line sometime in February. The numbers on HBO continue to impress as HBO invest in one of boxings most electrifying performers. Hopefully this will open a few more doors for Golovkin, who has found it impossible to entice the big stars into the ring thus far.

Boxing needs a knockout artist at this moment in time, hopefully between him and Kovalev we have a new breed of fighters to be excited about.
