SURREY HAVE NAMED A THIRTEEN MAN SQUAD FOR THE LV=COUNTY CHAMPIONSHIP GAME AGAINST ESSEX AT COLCHESTER STARTING ON FRIDAY.
Kumar Sangakkara is unavailable for selection due to Sri Lanka’s upcoming Test Series against India. Sad

The Surrey squad to play Essex in the LV=County Championship at Colchester on Friday 7th August, Saturday 8th August, Sunday 9th August and Monday 10th August :

sibley isn't in form so find it strange he is in the squad over kapil (back to back hundreds)

Sadly, I have to agree with Olly, much as I'd love to see us have a dart at getting 265 in the last 2 sessions. Probably best in the context of the match and, especially, our longer term promotion aspirations to settle for the draw here, rather than risk defeat in a run chase.

The requirement of 16 overs in the last hour of the final day seems to have caught cricinfo by surprise. They were stating a little while ago that about 90 were needed off 9. Now it's 69 off 13.3. If we can hang on to a few of our wickets, we could do this ....

Cheers, Olly - and you, Chichester. Haven't watched any highlights but have kept up to date with the scores and the odd cricinfo report. Cracking start to the RL 50 over competition - particularly sorry to have missed the Derbys game in my back yard, very good results as well against leading teams like Yorks and Durham. Burkey seems to have been well amongst the wickets with Dernbach often keeping it tight - Stewie said at a members' forum meeting a couple of months back that the latter ''isn't everyone's cup of tea but we've missed him in the limited over [t20] games''.
