Brilliant. WELL DONE TYSON FURY. I doubted him against chisora and he put in a performance i didn't realise he was capable of. I didn't think he stood a chance tonight....and again he's proven me wrong. I'll not doubt him again.

Congratulations Fury. I called him a pudding when he fought McDermott, he slowly proved he did as much as anyone to deserve his shot at Wlad. He took his chance and now he's the world champion.
Happy to be proved wrong. Nice one!

Re: Tonight's action thread....
Don't agree there Duran...
For one Wlad has no confidence in his chin...so if he can't immediatly figure an opponent out his punch output is extremely poor....he threw very little to make Fury think and when people put pressure on Fury that's when he himself looks a little out of his depth.
McDermott...Chisora...and couple of others have had no problems getting to Fury and whilst he has of course come on leaps and bounds, I don't think an extremely good heavyweight has those problems in the first place.
Joshua has Wlads power....with much better agility, punch variation and speed...those factors alone give him a huge advantage to me regardless of Fury's size.
Credit to Fury as I said...got the job done and made fools out of plenty of people. Interesting to see where he goes from here; talked the talk...got the job done but will he live up to his promise of invigorating the division and fighting the best or will he pick off some easy defences.
One thing is for sure...I expect to see Haye vs Fury before Joshua vs Fury...!

Dear Lordy. Buncey has just said that Joshua wouldn't land a punch on Fury. He may be the HW champ, but he's not that good...

Wladimir is almost 40. He has had his time. The Klitschko era is over - the long reign is over.

Tyson Fury is the heavyweight champion of the world and Jamie Vardy is a better striker than Ruud Van Nistelrooy! What a time to be alive!

Called it weong wrong. Didn't think he had a chance. Don't think he fought a particularly good fight, but i think his size left Wladimir, who lacks his brother's "I must destroy you now" attitude, unsure of how to wade in. At 6'9 you'd think hes gonna be a problem to dethrone.

Let's be brutally honest...
Nothing we've seen from Fury has suggested he had that performance in the locker.
Absolutely shocked, fair play to him.

Fury was also game for Haye but Haye injured himself.

Re: Tonight's action thread....
Wlad must have underestimated Fury, I presume Wlad picked the ring.
Way too big. We know Fury can move about for a big man plus Wlad is the older man he should have avoided running after Fury all night chasing the younger man.
Should have picked a smaller ring.

Re: Tonight's action thread....
Not lately Owen. Despite age, Wlad is a big seasoned and powerful guy and he was clueless. It's easy to say he didn't throw and others would... until you're in there. This is a newer and more protective style. Del didn't throw anything in the rematch either. He's just awkward. Let him have his moment, Joshua may well spark him but right now Joshua isn't proven anywhere near this level.

Fury went the distance with Chisora and then second time a jaded and disinterested Chisora retired on his stool.
Minor detail... Chisora didn't fight Wlad, he fought Vitali. The shell of Vitali!
He signed the contract for Haye but if that fight had happened at that time Haye would have knocked him out early.
As I said, nothing has suggested he could fight 12 rounds like that.
All respect due to him.

Some people still giving Fury a hard time. A few back handed compliments...
He's not the prettiest to watch we can all agree I'm sure. But he's now 25-0 and just beaten the best Heavyweight on the planet in a fight he was given almist no chance in. Credit where credits due u say. He's the champ, respect the guy and his performance tonight.

Tyson Fury is hardly known in Britain and yet now after outboxing a legend in the sport, he has become the Heavy Weight Champion of the World (three belts).

Re: Tonight's action thread....
Fury beats Haye all day for me. I'll reserve me judgment on Joshua once he's had an actual test.
The dream scenario right now for me is fury fully unifies the division against Wilder in 2016 while AJ finishes off David Haye setting up an all British unification fight at Wembley in 2017. boom.
