The Return of Sheep - RESULT
First topic message reminder :
Sheep is back albeit without the late (great) host paperbag_puncher.
Anyone ever play sheep? Basically I'll ask a series of "culturally" related questions and the aim is to answer with the most popular answer. You would PM me your answers for each round. So for example if in a sports round I asked name a boxing heavyweight champion and 7 people said Ali they would get 7 points. If 5 said Louis they would get 5 points and so on. There will be 10 questions in each round. Whoever gets the most points in each round of questions wins. There will be 5 rounds in each season provided the pilot is successful.
Points will be awarded to the first 5 players in each game no matter how many players.
1st -10
2nd-7
3rd-5
4th-3
5th-1
If there is a tie for a position players will get equal full points for their position, eg if 3 people tie for 1st then all 3 will get 10 points each. Games must have a minimum of 10 players. The winner of each season will be the person with most points after the 10 games. If level after 10 games the winner will be decided by how many 1st places a person had and so on.
Overall placings, and the new........

In a sport that is so reliant on stats and numbers it's impossible to look past the superior averages of his contemporaries; Bell for instance is a more talented player than Cook but there's no question who the better batsmen was/is.
Not when they're that close.
Lara averages less than a few players, but is better than all, imo.

Re: The Return of Sheep - RESULT
With Sutcliffe, Hobbs and Hammond they played a lot of games together so it's a more exact measure, the excuses for all three would by and large be identical so it comes down to hard data. There's not a lot between those three, Barrington and Hutton to be fair.
Lara's average can be excused in comparison to Kallis, Tendulkar and the like because of playing in a poorer team where much if not all relied on him.

Re: The Return of Sheep - RESULT
Oi, Sean, as you owe me: I want the Moore vote unsplit and England's finest ever captain to win. I am still happy to fight people who voted for anyone else.
Other than that I went:
Wembley
Lewis
Zola
Gower
Ronnie
Bolt
Joshua
Coe
Hill?
I chose all of those on merit rather than who might win. I don't think Fury is that good, but his behaviour would see him banned from the sport in my charge (if the people that run all the boxing would let me be in charge for once) so he gets shot off my list too.

Re: The Return of Sheep - RESULT
I found Wimbledon to be an absolutely soulless place. I don't mind new Wembley but think Ally Pally has become something big even if the darts is now just a night out where some Muppet takeover the stage to play darts, and Cheltenham racecourse is brilliant at the Festival.
However, Wembley is something to the world

Re: The Return of Sheep - RESULT
You've got my vote Dolph to be supreme overlord of all boxing.
My actual answers would be somewhat different to the ones I gave;
Twickenham
Ken Buchanan
Eric Cantona
Ken Barrington
Steve Davis
Usain Bolt
Bobby Charlton
Anthony Joshua
Daley Thompson
Lewis Hamilton

Re: The Return of Sheep - RESULT
As a cricket lover and boycott worshipper I would have gone with Jules in len hutton. Lords as ground. Ronaldo as export. I hate Hamilton so Stirling moss, no votes. Haye for best heavy.best sportsman overseas has to be djokovic or bolt. Best British athlete Daley Thompson, dominant against the communist drugs regime.

Sorry C&R I thought Rick had posted that for some reason and it was a joke about Tyson Fury.

Nooooo, but Zola is arguably the greatest influencer of the foreign contingent and possibly the most loved.

Gower a show pony. Grace aside, prob Hutton, boycott, Hobbs, cook and Vaughan. Technique and mentally. Root will surpass them all.

Of course it does. Sean's aversion to vaginas is legendary

I wish to make it clear that my picks for this round are not representative of my own preferences but are predictions of what you lot will go for.
The only one I stand by is my choice of newsreader as I used the standard newsreader barometer of quality - ability to give a great soapy titw**k.
