Watson getting a go at FB is good to see even if it is under unfortunate circumstances

Bench looks good, Itoje/George coming on will be serious impact in the last 30 mins

Really looking forward to seeing how Underhill goes against Hooper, I fancy Robshaw to pull off his usual masterclass against the Aussies too

Tom Croft retires on medical grounds

40 England caps and 2 Lions tours, 4 Premiership titles.

Not a bad career.

Not sure on Shields, if he was that good, he would already be in contention for an AB shirt, or already an AB!
We aren't in the situation where for example, someone like Waldrom came over and could walk into the set up.

Don;t get me wrong Shields is a good player, but I would much rather see him playing in the AP for a season, before throwing his name in the ring for selection.

In other news, keep the predictions coming in, due by midday. I will get the next thread up and catch up with any bids.

I'm not sure how Shields has missed the AB boat tbh. He's been on the fringes for years and has had a few great seasons in Super rugby.

If you flip it around, would Robshaw have an All Black cap - no. Would Robshaw be selected by any other tier Int nation - possibly not.

Good work Wink

Just an idea....is it worth leaving them open for the season? As people accumulate cash, they can bid. Keeps the interest in predicting up and cash stays relevant.

Kind of like that idea. Could have a think, and do the odd window, where you can only sign a particular player in that time period (eg Southern Hemisphere uncapped player / a TOP14 player / a Tier 2 European player)

In the style of FIFA and their Squad Building Challenges, there would be a special going on, with some opportunity to raise some funds as well in that time frame, to help sign a player.

Thoughts?

I'd be ok with that

Pro14
Top 14
Super Rugby
U20

That could be your categories

Gives a mini window every few weeks for people to sign a player if they choose

Well, you know I disagree with you on this. The only nations that wouldn't select robshaw imo are maybe NZ (but right now they would) and Wales because Gatland

No way would Robshaw be an AB CJ, just don't see that at all. There's about 10 better flankers in NZ.

From the home nation's I'd take Moriarty, Warbs, Tips, POM, Watson, Stander, SOB, Barclay above Robshaw personally.

A lot of money being pumped into them. Been speaking to a guy who is involved in Welsh premiership with links to dragons. Apparently they've signed a few big names and also a Fijian winger from France. Think dragons will be on the up.

We lacked carriers in the pack Prop, we never earned the right to go out wide.

These new rules are a concern imo. Teams aren't committing at the ruck so theres just a wall of defence, we ran out of ideas. A couple of time we got decent turnovers but were pinged, it's a bit confusing.

Yeah very much tackle and roll means a big wall of defence.

Scotland mind....even with 14 men that was a hell of a result. Over to Wales now!

Moriarty signed for dragons for 350k turned down dual contract. Been told this by dragons coach.

With the Wales game being played outside of the international window and clubs able to stop players playing in it, could i not stop Scott Andrews playing in that game?

It is still an international and therefore if Andrews or any other players are selected for the game, they would be ineligible for their club.
