Re-signed with relegation release clauses?
LI spending like they are already promoted. They better hope Ealing don't ruin the party.

Indeed ... for a while it looked like Coventry were going to do us a favour last weekend but then it all fell apart and Ealing even managed to grab an injury time TBP ...

Let's hope he's a beast and an explosive ball carrier from 8. Denton/Evans/Kiwi would be decent (if Evans doesn't get poached by Quins).

Liam Messam? Or is it someone coming up from the Southern Hemisphere?

Apparently he is desperate for a job in NZ but he doesn’t carry the coaching weight down there as most of his career has been NH based.
The ABs should snap him up, look at how well they’ve done with their last two former welsh coaches and to be fair our record under them was appalling compared to Gatland ha ha ha...
If he can’t get a job at home, he still lives in NZ and commutes to Wales for work, then I imagine he’ll do that, but if he can t he will take a high profile European job, Sarries is the kind of thing. Means lots of money for the retirement pot.

I know he is, but when you think of an AB that can/or has played all positions in the back row, Messam makes sense.
The next ones would most likely be Matt Todd, Jordan Taufau (at a push), or Ardie Savea (unlikely with the Cane injury situation).

Why would Sarries want or need him? McCall has been a fantastic DOR for them. He's lost coaches but rebuild the coaching team time and time again. Squad has been consistently good. They've won plenty of silverware. Unless there's a big job that's tempting McCall away Gatland would be superfluous.

McCall is succeeding Joe Schmidt. Sarries need a good coach and there isn’t a super rugby vacancy any time soon, hence Gatland.

Not sure where you’re getting your info from Sam but it’s all wrong. Stick to ref-blaming when Wales do something remotely good.

Re: Silly Season Transfer Rumours 17/18
Fissler reporting Retallick to Sale for £1 million.
All I can think is that he's lining up 2-3 years of high earnings before returning for the 2023 RWC. He'll only be 28 years old at this RWC and must have a good shot at the captaincy after Read retires.
Very good players have given up international rugby early before though. Having been through a Lions cycle and already won a RWC he may feel that maximising his career is the best bet. Carl Hayman was still the best tighthead in the world when he jacked in international rugby.

Savea re-signed with the NZRFU in December following a significant wage hike, Fluxy.
The NZRFU have a strict wage structure judged largely on international experience, loyalty to the NZRFU, value to Super Rugby franchises through captaincy, etc. They are very reticent to break the structure as they fear it will cause rapid wage inflation which will get out of control - see wages in the Prem!
Apparently that structure has had a rare exception made for Savea though given then Cane injury makes him the best option they have by a distance in a key position.

Diamond has tried to retire up to the Sale board previously. It didn't work and he had to come back as DOR. Sale have had a cash injection so could be looking for someone to build the side up but that would be a hands on long term commitment, not sure Gatland would fancy that with his family over in NZ.
A cushy job with one of the PI teams would suit him more I'd have thought.

Saints have lost an edge up front so reuniting the Franks brothers would possibly help with that.
Tuafua doing the rounds it seems. Hope that one comes off.
Kitch is a good signing for Wuss, it's his team and he'll help their set piece.

Marcelo Bosch is due to retire in the summer so that might create some room in the squad. Daly won't be cheap but a great signing for Sarries.

There were suggestions that Wasps were offering him more money to stay, than Sarries were to leave.

Saracens do tend to rotate their players more. Maybe he's thinking that a combination of that pack and more rotation will be better for his body in the long run.

With England matchday payments to add in I'd imagine that the difference in pay would be pretty minimal in the scheme of his total earnings to be fair. Daly will have earned an extra £225k from his 9 England appearances last year.
