64% Edinburgh possession - probably a good thing given how sharp Glasgow's attack has been

Why take SHC off for feckin Fowles?? First thing he does is pass it to no one!

Only reason i can think to take off SHC is to save him for Munster.

Fair point from Lawson - for consistency VDM should have been penalised for the push.
All Edinburgh this half but no points to show for it.
Fowles!!!!!

Another strange call taking Toolis off who has been collosal.
As you say Welly can only think it is to conserve energy for next week.

Gaaah big blow to lose Mata. Our team now isn't nearly as good as the one that started. That is mainly Fowles' presence on the pitch to be fair!

Yeeeeeees!
Cockerill had sone big talk this week and his players have delivered - Edinburgh were hugely physical and Glasgow just couldn't cope with it or get into any rythem. Edinburgh's carrying in particular was phenomenal.
This 1872 milarky is getting a bit easy - can we play someone else instead?![Very Happy](https://2img.net/i/fa/i/smiles/icon_biggrin.png)

Re: Edinburgh vs Glasgow
You've got to wonder what we'll do about a 9 for next year.
Do the SRU get SHC and cockers in a room, tell SHC he's not quite the messiah but also tell cockers that SHC is 5 times the player fowles is.
If SHC is wanting more money, take it out of Fowles' wages.

Glasgow: a team with no bite. Talent but no spine.
Edinburgh: a team with guts and proper hardman rugby
And yet the "warriors" call us the exfoliators???
Ps. 6 from 8 for Edinburgh now. Come one Glasgow, at least try to pretend to be a rugby team

Edinburgh won 15 games. Only Glasgow managed to equal us (they were in the easier conference though)
Only the BPs stopped us from being top.
Scottish Rugby eh. You just don't know what to expect

Re: Edinburgh vs Glasgow
Very impressive from both Scottish teams this season.
And the two Italian teams had their best season ever with 18 wins between them.
Can they improve again next season?
If Dragons, Kings and Connacht get their act together for 18/19, it could be an interesting season in the run up to the RWC.

Re: Edinburgh vs Glasgow
25000 attendance - an 1872 cup record.
Tell you what it's a good thing Glasgow have a home semi as they haven't won away since the beginning of January! Their form really has nosedived after a near perfect first half of the season.
I know we really can't complain given the season we've had but finishing 2 points off the top of the conference really is tantalisingly close.

It just will make them hungrier for next season as they will spend the summer wondering if only they had won another game which will drive them on
It's hard to have imagined at the start of the Season there would be two Scottish clubs in the Champs Cup next season, but at least the Scottish team with the European pedigree is back at the top table

Re: Edinburgh vs Glasgow
Some very disgruntled weegies on social media, not reacting well to Rennie's "we'll get it right next time" comments - he's been saying that for the last few weeks. I'm looking forward to hearing how 21st's Murrayfield visit went - he usually has such fond memories of 1872 days!
Once again worryingly for Glasgow they were dominated up front and didn't have the game to compensate for that. Each member of the Edinburgh pack had telling contributions whether it was big carries or big hits, whereas I can barely remember any from Glasgow's 8. I only noticed Matt Fagerson was playing on the 60 minute mark! The back 5 especially dominated Glasgow - our locks were superb and if Swinson continues to be picked over Gilchrist or toolis I'll lose a lot of respect for Townsend as a selector! He was completely ineffective in attack and defence.
It's going to be a real challenge against Munster but if we play with the same ferocity we stand a chance.

I don't think we'll see him again for a while to be honest.
If he does rock up, he'll be effing and blinding and then try to remark about how all the noise was coming from the Warrior Nation and that the supporters of "the effeminates" were sitting in the library as usual. All just a vain attempt at trying to distract from the fact that Glasgow were manshamed up front and bullied by a hard rugby team.

Re: Edinburgh vs Glasgow
Well I was away in France for most of the week, so missed the build up and only saw the match late last night.
Well done Edinburgh, deserved winners, knowing they had qualified did seem to release them a bit and they played without any pressure.
It was a great game to watch and I actually thought that Glasgow played their best game of late as well. Finn turned up this week and the attack was much sharper than it has been. Still to many mistakes though.
In many ways though that makes the Edinburgh win more impressive, it was not your typical dead rubber game at all, both sides were up for it.
So in summary, a great win and deserved qualification for Edinburgh. No-one saw that coming at the beginning of the season.
Glasgow seemed to get out of their recent malaise and turned up this week, but could not quite bring it off. Hopefully this will shake them up even more in time for the semis.
A lot of Glasgow fans are not going to like this, but this end of season format, playing all the cup finals and the pro game together, seemed to work well. A crowd of 25,000 is not to be sniffed at and has massive commercial implications for the SRU. We could see this being a staple from now on, with all its implications of bias against Glasgow. That should put the chips back on Weggie shoulders! They certainly need something to rile them up!
By the way if you get the chance to go to Normandy, I thoroughly recommend a visit to Monet's Garden, which is spectacular in the spring sunshine. Our other day out was to the D Day beeches. A very moving experience. I did that trip as a 15 year old school boy 40 years ago. It was moving then and even more powerful this time around.
Puts a lot of the things we moan about on here into some form of perspective!

Didn't see the game. It was on straight after the Munster vs Ulster game so caught the build up. Was surprised that there were so many drop outs for both teams.
Was it something like 6 or 7 drops outs? Was there a reason for this? Flu bug doing the rounds?

As far as I know only Kinghorn pulled out for illness - the others were late injury changes. Horne pulled up in the warmup having been brought in to replace Johnson! Chris Dean failed a late fitness test too.
