I don't think i have seen a game when Wales have not scored any points at all in fifty odd minutes.

I don't understand that after a very good maul, culminating in a penalty they then run a trick play blind instead of mauling agains...

Dewi Lake comes on, desperate to prove himself, calls a back jump in the lineout and loses ball...

At least he has the confidence to go for it, Elias kept losing front ball

Porter is getting away with murder at the scrum, no intention of scrummaging and going in and dropping... and getting penalties for it lol

Wales have a huge amount of problems up front, and I worry for the Italy game tbh

A shoulder to the chest generally hurts tbf.

So does being body slammed by two forwards but he was able to get straight up from that cos there was a try on

I suspect hes hurting more from the missed kicks even if the scoreline isnt

Of course it was...

The worst part about it was that Elias had a chance to kill the move early on and decided to let the Irish play the advantage.

This seems to be following the pattern of the regions this year: in a game until halftime (at least on the scoreboard) and then blown away 2nd half.

Wales really at 6s/7s here it is looking like a rout for Ireland.

Ireland just simply out playing Wales, they (Wales)look very much like a school boy side not an international side.

Dominant performance from Ireland, some great defence to starve the opposition. Wales on the other hand have been extremely lackluster, struggling to see any real positives tbh.

It will end up being a decent win for Ireland but there are still a lot of open questions. Conor Murray really should not be in the squad anymore, great player in the past but just not the man anymore. The replacements, in general, have been average if I may be honest.

As for Wales, the least said about Adams at 13 the better, actually feel for the lad.

Basham has had a very good game for Wales though.

Post by Dirtydave Sat 05 Feb 2022, 4:06 pm

I feel for a few Welsh players, Basham has tried hard but is so small...

Adams has a poor centre inside him in Tompkins, and Mcnicholl a very poor defender outside him, which has compounded Adams issues...

Francis has been unlucky at scrum time because of Peypers tendancies...

Biggar has had no platform, and Tomos Williams being chaotic inside him...

Apart from that Wales have been exactly how everyome thought they would be, underpowered and poor.

Should be cheering Wales on to keep the points difference down I guess, but its going to be on the other contenders to actually beat Ireland now to win the championship. Wales have made it look easy but clearly a solid team

Wales. Hmmm. Hard to see how it’s going to get any better from here! Will need a massive improvement to beat Scotland.

A very good win for Ireland, well deserved bonus point.

Wales, what can you say really. Back to the drawing board i guess.

When do Wales play Italy? might see a decent performance from Wales then, today as been shocking.

I really think that Wales missed AWJ's leadership more than anything today. They were not out of it at half time, in fact, I think they finished the stronger team.

Get some of your players back from injury and ye are still a serious team.

Very disappointing from Wales. Surely there must another centre to allow Adams to go back to the wing where he could do some damage. Really missing some power in the pack with all the injuries.

Ireland played well, but left a lot of points out there. The substitutions seemed to really disrupt things, hopefully the game time today will help reduce that in the future. Great debut for Hansen, my worries about his defence seem unfounded, but let's face it, the threat from Wales wasn't the greatest.

Amazing to hear comments about Wales playing poorly...

Missing 5 - 8 forwards, which includes the entire leadership group, then a few experienced backs...

This Wales team was a scratch team, utilising a 3rd choice hooker, 3/4th choice lock and totally new back row, followed by by 3/4th choice centres...

What did people expect?

The very last game… on todays performance and what will now be a very very difficult run of matches, is going to be a wooden spoon decider. Crying or Very sad

I’ll be very surprised if Pivac has a job by the end of March.

Good win Ireland.

If Basham was playing for Ireland would easily have got man of the match.  Stood out for Wales and possibly the best player on the field.

The two moments that summed up Wales today was a kick by LRZ and he is chasing after it with no Welsh player near him but the ball 20m to long and comfortably dealt with by Ireland.  The second is the Adams one where he looks at Sexton even though the ball is in the air and then shoulder to chest.  Camera was constantly on him and he always looked frustrated. Bad management decision.

Hansen did well and was busy and hit rucks if he didn't get the pass.  I think most of the time I saw LRZ was trying to defend him.

Big difference in the game was the impact of the Irish wings v the Welsh ones.  Pivac surely will be asked why he took a Lions winger and made him useless.

Ireland restarts were terrible and seemed a bit rusty.  Casey was the Irish 9 to improve their reputation the today.

He will, just because the WRU won’t replace him and pay him out of contract this close to a WC. How will they fund their hotel otherwise? Or pay for their closed bars in the second half.

Congrats Ireland. Very convincing still, although I’m sure Faz and the supporters will want more from today.

Basham too lightweight? No chance. If he is, then it’s on Pivac to select a better backrow to negate that.

Lovely diversionary tactics.

Wales played poorly, I said they were poor, you said ‘so you thought wales would win?’. Are you thick?

All teams have injuries. Wales currently have a lot. Other teams have had a lot. When England, for example, have had injuries recently but still played poorly their fans have said ‘we were poor’ and they have gone on to discuss how they played poorly. Why can’t we do that with Wales? You want us to praise it? No one is saying we should have won. No one predicted a win. We can still call out the poor performance.

1. Are you rude enough to call me thick? why do you feel so entitled to insult posters who disagree with you?

2. Are you comparing Wales ability to deal with 14 players / 1000 caps missing to Englands? do you understand why this makes you look silly?

3. Did I not say Wales played poorly? Is there not a valid reason for poor performance sometimes?

I feel for you, but ask you to not be so aggressive, ignorant and insutling in your replies for no reason!

So are you stating 450 vs 468 caps is an advantage to wales? Is the 600+ caps not in the Wales side but left out injured are not an impact then?

Are you the lone person who though this Wales squad was capable of beating Ireland?

Miaow, just crawl back under your rock.

Missing 5 - 8 forwards, which includes the entire leadership group, then a few experienced backs...

This Wales team was a scratch team, utilising a 3rd choice hooker, 3/4th choice lock and totally new back row, followed by by 3/4th choice centres...

What did people expect?

So they played well then?

Did you expect a Wales win?

Missing 13/14 first teamers in Owens / Dee, AWJ / Ball / Hill, Navidi, Tipuric, Falatau = 500 caps up front alone.

Then without Jonny Willams, North, Halahalo...

Wales didnt play well, but they looked exactly what they were... a scratch team, missing 700/800 caps in the first 15. When you consider that wales had 468 caps, thats massive.

This is the 3rd comment calling me Miaow this week, not to mention the 4/5 posters from last year when I joined who called me this peron...

I'm going to report it, and ask those in charge of the forum to deal with this issue, as I have no idea who this person is, and have no idea why I keep getting called them. My IP adress cannot be the same as this persons, so i'll expect a response / apology!

Great knowledge about IP addresses, for somebody who is a new poster.

Are you saying only people experienced on this website know what IP adresses are?

Also, I signed up here maybe 15 months ago...

Should I be constantly called previousl posters for have=ing the opinion that Wales are bunk because they have a big injury list?

Guy who calls a player ‘a cancer on the team’ now up in arms because people described the team as ‘playing poorly’ :Picard:

Whos up in arms? Did I not state Wales played poorly before giving reasons why?

Do you think Elias played well?

You! Your words: “Amazing to hear comments about Wales playing poorly...” Then you criticise others for daring the question the performance. Then you too said Wales played poorly! Are you amazed at yourself too?!

Do you believe this wales team played poorly? Or do you think this Wales team have been decimated by injuries?

Did anyone predict anything other than an Ireland win?

To say Wales played poorly states you expected more from a scratch team, surely your not that deluded that you expected a Wales win?

Well that's just really really stupid. As you can both have injuries and play badly.

So your point of view is Wales didn't play badly them?
