Wow! Had a peek at this bit of site and not what I expected at all. I have my favourite players but have no objection to them being critised. In fact I sort of expect it on a non fan site.

First time I read a rafateer thread here. I did not realise there was a famously infamous Mr T.

Just to clarify a point and will leave you in peace here. I don't hate Nadal, never said I did. I don't know him nor do I know Federer.

All my views are based on what I see on the court, nothing else. I can only suggest that the reason I am singled out here is that I back up my view with valid points and that's what hurts the fans who like the man more than the tennis player.

Tenez they love you here my friend. I haven't checked in on the rafateers in a while. Hey ladies any news on Rafa's foot, I really do hope that this is not another injury shortened year for Rafa. Tennis is poorer without him. Hi wooffie, haddie, cats, mrs. denz. We miss you guys on the main board.

Bogbrush you and Tenez, just have too much animal magnetism for the ladies, they really love you guys. Especially, Tenez, I must get pointers. It is a shame, it seems like they have relocated in mass, well I will miss them and hope they comeback.

Just got back from holiday to see that this place is completly empty. Sad to see, I'll miss your humour and fun. Good luck in your new home whereever you are!

It's a real shame, I've got the impression this was also a good place to find a girl...... I'll miss the lovely rafa fans for this reason.....

Yeah but I think, there's also some space to grow up further for those rafa gals, I mean if they can't even bear anyone saying the word moonballer I see a bit of an insecurity issue emerging.....

I think there needs to be growing up if all people can use is Moonballer!!

I don't see what's wrong with them having their own thread to chat about what they like, in the same way you can say what you like on the main boards.

I think the point they were trying to make is that player bashing, whether its snide remarks about The Moonballer or The Shanker or The Choker, were against the rules of the site, and so it should be. You mention grow up, don't you think its childish to refer to players in this way ? where do you draw the line under what constitutes mere banter and what is obvious wumming and having a go at the Nadal/Federer/Djokovic supporters ?

Its difficult, so its better to say all or nothing, and the rules say nothing. Its under "respect".

But that's all changed, the rules don't seem to hold the same amount of water and the Rafateers have vapourised anyway. So they're not here to answer any of these questions.

It's not that anybody would use the word every time, but it just can happen.....the essence of sport is rivalry: this between players or fans without distinction, people like or dislike players or team depending on who they'd support. Anybody who is a sport fan knows there's always little rivalry between fans as well, nothing to be ashamed of in my view.

Honestly I believe they were complaining about what people was saying in the main forum, as I don't think many posters have ever dared to venture into this to complain about Nadal.
The point is: you can also laugh about someone calling weird adjective a player that you like, you don't need necessarily to get so upset. At least for me was like this when they called Fed shanky, but then I guess everybody is different......

Put it this way:-

Why should Rafa or any other players fans have to put up with that nonsense? The answer id:- They don't and so have set up their own forum where wind-up merchants are not allowed so they can now chat in peace.

Well the best of luck to them, Ill miss them, they were pleasant ladies.

JK...I don't think the rafateers have ever called Federer "shanky" not to my knowledge, and their complaints were not about their boards, but when they did venture out to socialise, the idiots had to ply their trade. They took it for quite a while, taking it on the chin, but enough was enough and they began to fight back. I know, I was a mod back then and had to cool the flames between several posters and the Rafateers. They never once used inflammatory remarks apart from 2 of their group who went a bit over board, they were reprimanded by wooffie and that was that, but you never saw them in a flame war.

Its OK to have a little dig now and again, but the constant anti Nadal posts aren't justified purely for opposing opinions or controversial views. Sometimes the comments are funny, but there are at least two posters on V2 who take their Nadal hatred to an every day occurrence and encourage others to follow suit.

So they departed there shores for a place where they can just talk tennis and Nadal. Fair enough I say.

Bring back the rafateers!

The use of derogatory names is puerile. No-one minds a bit of constructive debate but there should always be a level of respect for others.

Jub, in fairness I don't think these derisory names have been used that much even after the ban has been removed. Also, if you have a look at, say, the last 50 articles: how many of those would you consider as wumming articles: in my view not many if anyone of them. Finally: you remember the old 606 where most of us come from and the plethora of titles like: "the choker is back" , "shanky is finished": I think this site represents quite a big step forward from there.....can it be just a problem of high or excessive sensitivity to debate or criticism sometimes?

If a poster criticises Federer, he is talking nonsense, yet when people criticise Nadal they are telling the truth?

I think you're right on many levels, but then again, there are the same remnants from that 606 epoch that ply their trade here.

It should have been quite clear to anyone coming to this site to bury the past, our 606 history and continue in a fashion that promotes respect and understanding, but leopards - spots and all that.

Its a shame, but it might be healthy for the forum to air our fears and go through this test of fire and come out the other end, stronger and more reasonable with our posts. as a "Public" forum, we should all take responsibility for what we post and only then can we get on and share our views in a sociable manner.

Oh come on, they left because Rafa lost Wimbledon. Unlike 606 they have a special section that is generally left alone so no need to blame Tenez.

ALL the top players are EXTREMELY fit and EXTREMELY talented. We all have preferences but the sheer number and repetitiveness of the anti Nadal posts is ridiculous. Time and again the assertions are challenged logically and it is shown that they are weak and speculative at best but yet they continue. Lydian and SoCal won this debate several days ago.

I am not a Rafateer - just a tennis fan.

Hmmm............I actually meant to post this rant on the other thread. That will teach me to post after a 16 hour night shift and no sleep

Well I think it is fair to say that the debate was well and truly won.

What disappoints me the most is that since that debate, is that section has gone quiet and it seems if people are not discussing fitness and what not, that their isn't much else they want to discuss.

I would very much like to see other posters bring in other topics for discussion.
