Deadline was today 3PM, I think we should give Tranquil the job. An if Bear comes back asking where his job has gone we should just ignore him like he did do us. Get your link in Tranq ASAP you got the job well done.

We have given Gloucester until tomorrow. I don't expect him to reply to any messages, but we have to at least give him a chance.

And no fixtures next week, although I haven't actually announced it yet.

Week 4 tactics due in this week by Friday 22nd. Week 4 voting will be open from Monday 25th through to close of Monday 1st August.

Q/F of cup - Tactics due by close of 1st August, voting on the 2nd.

Week 5 tactics due in on Friday 5th.

I have sent one last message to Gloucester.

I am keen to get Tranquil into a side, but we have to be fair to Gloucester.

And there is an argument that the league has about the right number of Liverpool fans in it already.... Very Happy

i just hope that i can get some retaliatory laughing in with some wins over united and everton

im hoping there wont be much laughing in my direction, as i have a feeling we may get back into the cl places, but it depends on how the players handle the pressure. as for most of the time under kenny, there was no pressure on us, but in the last 2 games of the season, where we had a chance of europe, we cracked (although i do hope that was because none of the players wanted to play in the europa league)

Just got off the phone with Phil Gartside and he has confirmed that GloucesterBear has officially resigned from Bolton and he has undertaken a series of intense interviews and skill based assessments.

He concluded that noone suitable was found and that he was therefore prepared to offer the job to a Mr T Chaos. He has requested that Mr Chaos gets his link in if he is interested.

PS I have got a message from Gloucester apologising for not being around and that he found it difficult to spread his time amongst a number of leagues.

Get your link, but I expect the obligatory "final piece of the jigsaw" comments after each Liverpool signing IRL and Bolton signing on here.

lol CL Football for Liverpool.

I still see Man Utd, Man City, Chelsea, Arsenal and probably Spurs above you, it depends how they deal with European Football and League Football which may benefit you guys and how quickly your players settle in. It will be a very close season.

I think your living pipe dreams if you think Liverpool are going to get into the CL places next year Tranquil.
I think Liverpool will come 5th, a decent season but the honey moon season with Kenny will definately be over. What do you think the starting line up will be?
----------------Carroll------------------
Gerrard------Suarez-------Downing
----------Meireles--Lucas-------------
G.Johnson--Skrtel--Carra------Kelly

Adam, Kuyt, Aquaman?, Spearing, Agger on the bench. Looks decent but I think you need a new CB.

are the finances right on the bolton page?

and yeah i do think we have a chance of CL, chelsea and united are gimmes for the top 2 spots, but city were reliant on tevez last season, and im not sure dzeko and aguero will fill that void, arsenal, well who knows what will happen with them, if they lose fab and dont have time to get a replacement in, they could drop out of the top 4, and spurs, well they overachieved last season, and i dont think they can do that again

FroMan, I vote for a recount and Andy to add 4 goals on make it a minimum of 3-0 to me.

I requesta vote. In the situation of that match, the goals are 1-11 that is quite clearly a big ol beat down. So I feel in the case where a team manages 1 goal against the other with the other team having a minimum of 10 with a minimum of 7 managers voting it should become an auto 4 - 0.

I am interested in what midfield formation/players Liverpool will play.

But I think a CL spot is not unrealistic for them. I would say Man Utd, Man City and Chelsea are top 3, but then flip a coin between Arsenal, Spurs and Liverpool for the fourth spot. I don't think there is much between them.

How many years have people been saying Arsenal will drop out of the top 4? If the season started now and Arsenal didn't have Fabregas but all their other players they would still finish top 4. I don't think Man Utd/Chelsea top 2 is a given next year, I think Man City will really challenge them. Yaya Toure will be the driving force behind that, they need to play a bit more attacking mind.

Tranquil welcome to the league again mate, we missed you.

thats fairly close to what id imagine, but i think meireles will leave and adam will take his place, if agger can stay fit, i believe he is our best cb, so id put him ahead of skrtel, and swap gerrard and suarez around, and i think were not far off, id like a new cb, but i dont think we are going to get one, and id be after a LB aswell, as although i am a fan of kelly, i wouldnt want to put too much pressure on him by expecting him to play the majority of games, that nearly ruined insuas career for us

People were saying it for years about Liverpool, and Liverpool fans said the same as you. And then it happened.

A lot of the time in the past when it wasn said, the top 4 were always well ahead of the rest. Now Spurs and City have improved and are worthy of being grouped with the rest.

I think City, Utd and Chelsea are slightly ahead, and that only leaves 1 spot between 3 teams.

The Premier League needed more competition for the CL spots otherwise the top 4 were just going to get all the CL money and stretch the gap further. If one or 2 of Utd, Chelsea and Arsenal were to not make the CL this year, that would benefit the league as a whole IMO.

yeah i dont want to see him go either, but i can see why he is the sacrificial lamb

and the reason he may be going is because of his contract, hes only on around 30-40 grand a week, and supposedly he has an agreement to look at a new contract offer after the first season, but it seems the heirachy dont want to give him an improved contract and cash in on him

Stoke are happy to confirm that Ashely Young has joined for a club record £25m with future add ons which will rise to £30m. The fans wanted one massive name and I feel I have achieved that. Welcome to Britannia Ashely.

My two teams

-----------Kameni
Brown--King--Kaboul---Neville
------Makoun--Montolivo
Pennant--Young----Ethrington
--------Quagliarella

-----------Smitthies
Di Silvestri--Johnson--Woodgate---Tremoulinas
------Palombo--Hargreaves
Farfan--Fernandez----Guardado
------------Kane

That is my two teams, in my head it looked much better then it is on paper, I still need a CB, AM, CM, CF and ST.

I'm happy because I've got what I think are the 3 hardest games out of the way and got 4 more points (however I got them). You've still got to play Everton and Liverpool, which I think will be draws

Rosicky - definately do a job, although not one for your best starting XI. A decent back-up player though.

Lallana - Looks a decent prospect, although most of his football has been in League 1 (I think maybe 1 season in the Championship when they went down). Be interesting to see how he fares this coming season, but could be worth a gamble.

FroMan, My Spurs would of beat you good and proper. Everton and Pool matches are vital for me, im confident tho as I do feel my team/starting 11 is better. The only thing is I like to play 442 where as most teams in the league play 451, so if I get my sort my players out right Ill beat them both.
But I know what will happen, ill change my formation to match, ill lose and the reason will be change of formation.

You couldnt exploit a nudist on a nudist beach !!! ???
Your crabby little wingers wouldnt of done shizzle, they would of been doubled up on, but then who knows who reads tactics properly. Doesnt matter if I tell Coentrão to stay back and mark because IRL he has a tendancy to attack which automatically mean when his manager me give him instructions he doesnt listen. Or the fact I tell Coentrão to attack and Bale to hold of and drop to LB because IRL he doesnt do that, he never tracks back and helps his LB out even when Assou-Ekotto goes all the way to the touchline Bale goes with him doesnt he?
Players dont listen to their managers instructions in real life so why should they in a realistic league.
Think me next set of tactics will be to tell all my players to run towards the ball, follow it everywhere is goes, do not take your eyes off it and chase it, chase it like leather wearing fudge packer chases man sausage !!!

LOL - it's not about players listening to your instructions. It's the fact that for both your full backs, their strengths are not staying back and defending, they are getting forward and support the attack. And the same goes for Bale

Just because you tell them to stay back, doesn't suddenly make them good defenders. All you do is take away what makes them most effective.

So in my next game against you I will play Bramble and tell him to stay tight and mark Benzema out of the game. Because I have said it in my tactics, that's Benzema dealt with.
