nitb, be logical for once, he has been an embarrassment to what he plays, why negate it?

Re: ATP World Tour Finals 2011, London Calling
Djoko is ready for one last hurrah. What he and Rafa must try to do next year is avoid each other in big finals. They seem to have worn each other out in 2011. Or was it just the one match - the extraordinarily physical USO final - that did the damage?

There are not that many indoor HCs that Nadal goes to.
Having said that, he beat Berdych last year (2010), and see where Berdych is this year. IMVHO, Tipsy let him off the hook with that silly volley.
Djokovic was handicapped by ContactLenseGate.
Just looking @TMC/WTF - http://www.atpworldtour.com/Tennis/Players/Top-Players/Rafael-Nadal.aspx?t=pa&y=0&m=s&e=605#
Isn;t that typical LF? You think Nadal played well in that semi cause he won, right? WOudl you have said the same had he lost that key point and the match v Murray? Would you have come up with that match to try to counter GP argument? So once again, luck which is in effect what decided that match is the criteria to decide whether Nadal plays well or not? Typical.
The thing is that Murray certainly hasn't got the firepower of Tsonga so Nadal will have time to apply his attritional game versus Murray and allow him to play his best. That's the difference between yesterday and last year.

But how are they going to avoid each other in big finals? 1 & 2. Not just USO, but all year around, the style they play it's painful to watch let alone play it.
USO probably a cherry on top, totally wasted both of them.

Re: ATP World Tour Finals 2011, London Calling
Yesterday was all well and good but I dont expect Tsonga to be beating Nadal much outside of indoor courts if Nadal is anywhere his usual form, and even yesterday had Nadal been in better form he could have still won the match.
I have a feeling that Nole and Nadal wont be meeting each other with the same regularity in finals next year.

Yes, Nadal played as well as he could. Tsonga played better and deserved the win.
You referred to a 'crucial point' in a match and I gave you examples of such over the years.
Tipsy missing the MP against Berdych. If Tipsy had made the MP, Berdych would have minimal chances of a SF berth.
Rather interesting that you bring up the 'crucial point' argument and now are back-tracking on it.

I did not refer to any point in particular. Just the fact that you said Nadal played well in that last year semi whereas I don't think he did anymore than yesterday> Just teh result is different cause one took teh game away from him, while the other played in Nadal's terms. That's all it takes.

Subjective opinion, and you want me to consider it a 'balanced' argument.

you can do a "brutal three setter dance"? awesome! Can you also do a "brutal five setter dance for special occasions"? Could come in handy for whoever gets the first semi at the Us Open

I've got a question. Provided Nole qualifies for the semis and then he is not fit to play, then who plays the semi-final match?

Shouldn't it be against the rules if two best friends play? Especially if one can't qualify even with a win.

I would assume whoever finished third in the group. But it could be a replacement I guess, or even just a straight w/o (though that seems unlikely). Wouldn't worry though, physically Nole seems just fine to me.

Nole's level dipping in this set, and Tipsy is fighting it out well. he breaks for 5-3 (again) and will serve for the set.
