That is a very high price to pay just to get cesc, would be easier to try to sort out an exchange instead of selling them 3.

I thought that about cesc but they probably won't sell him for any price this transfer window unless someone goes crazy and offers over £50million.prettyboykev wrote:Derbyblue wrote:Arsenal are ready to reluctantly sell Cesc Fabregas for £35million
Liverpool are lining up a £15million move for Blackburn defender Phil Jones, they are expected to have to compete with Manchester United for his signing
On loan Richie Towell has said he wants to return to Easter Road next season
Don't see why Arsenal would sell Cesc for £35m he is worth £50m in todays market.
£15m for Jones of Blackburn is a lot of money for a realtively unproven player. Remember Liverpool have young Danny Wilson they bought from Rangeres who is an excellent centre back.
Towell should be sent to the championship on loan he has proved he is good enough to play for a poor SPL team Championship or League 1 would be a tougher test and prove if he has what it takes to come back to Celtic and make his mark.

I'll be surprised if Sunderland are open to selling Gyan, Bruce is said to looking to sign a few strikers anyway and selling Gyan will make that a lot harder.prettyboykev wrote:Tottenham are interested in Sunderland striker Asamoah Gyan.
Schalke are eyeing Aston Villa goalkeeper Brad Friedel as they step up their search for Manuel Neuer's successor.
Friedel is 39 he can only be a short term replacement maybe there for just one or two seasons.

That woukd be a great bit of buisness for Bolton. Wright Phillips would be a good addition to their squad. They could use some of the £15m to replace Cahill and strengthen their squad in other departments.

I've always liked Wright Phillips just wasn't good enough at Chelsea and Man City but their is no shame in that.

3 centre backs seems strange with only 1 wide man. Think Liverpool are pretty weak in the wide areas and need a few. They have a cracking front 2 and need to get service for them. Encouraging signs are the age of the players they are being linked with Kenny is keen on putting together a young talented squad.

Arsenal and Liverpool could be priced out of a bid for Paris St Germain centre-back Mamadou Sakho after he was rated at £20m.
QPR boss Neil Warnock wants to sign Rangers and Algeria World Cup centre-half Madjid Bougherra.
Can see this Sakho rumour being true PSG will be trying to get as much for him as possible would expect him to leave near the end of the window for almost have the £20m touted.
Bougherra could be a possible signing target for a few English clubs he is looking to leave Rangers and has knocked back a new contract. Rangers would like the cash as well rather than lose him for free a year later. Probably between £3-£5m.

Can't see this being tru and don't see it being a good move for Young. Ronaldo and Di Maria are better an established as Real Madrids wide men and could see him spending a lot of time on the bench.

I can see them trying to buy him, but I agree it will be a poor move for Ashley Young, he will just end up being sat on the bench, and without injuries affecting his team mates I doubt he would be in the starting line up regularly.prettyboykev wrote:Derbyblue wrote:Real Madrid are ready to join in the £15million race to sign Aston Villa's Ashley Young

When does Owen's contract with Manchester United run out? I'm not sure he would really accept a move down to the Championship, and I wonder if he would accept a pay as you play contract with Derby.
It's a shame players like Jack Rodwell, never end up staying at the clubs that brought them through the ranks and end up leaving for one of the bigger teams in the Premier League. I also don't see Arsenal's biggest need as being defensive midfielder, so to spend half of the rumoured transfer budget on the position would seem like a waste to me.
I'll be impressed if QPR managed to get Chamakh for £12million, but I guess Arsenal will be happy with the profit after they signed him for nothing.
I have read quite a lot that Nike Kranjcar is very interested in moving to Italy in the summer and playing in Serie A.

Good bit of buisness for both imo. Milner needs to be somewhere he gets games and Bales gone off the boil a bit at Spurs. Might have been in the Champions League but don't have as good a side as Arsenal and don't have the money of the rest.

Re: Gossip thread
Bale has been awful the second half of the season. I'll probably get slaughtered for this but I think he is over rated. He has a lot to live up to after his performances against Inter. It would be a good bit of business for Spurs as I think that Milner is a lot more consistent than Bale is.

Man Utd are being linked with a different keeper everyday. We will probably be right about one. I've not seen as much of Steklenberg as the others they are linked with.

Re: Gossip thread
German giants Bayern Munich are keen on taking Bendtner to the Bundesliga
if Arsenal do allow him to leave north London.
Arsenal are interested in signing Stuttgart's Serdar Tascim. Belgium international defender Jan Vertonghen is another
long-term target for Gunners boss Arsene Wenger.
Arsenal have rekindled their interest in signing Everton centre-back Phil
Jagielka after failing to capture the England defender last summer.
Liverpool and Real Madrid are both chasing £5.5m Arsenal left-back, Gael
Clichy, who is out of contract in 12 months.
Tottenham are keeping close tabs on West Ham's England midfielder Scott
Parker, who could become available if the Hammers are relegated from the Premier
League.
Hammers striker Demba Ba is another target for the north Londoners, while
Chelsea and Blackburn could be interested in signing the Senegal
international.

The main ones I've heard are De Gea and Neuer but there have been plenty of other goalkeepers rumoured to be on their way to old trafford.prettyboykev wrote:Derbyblue wrote:Maarten Stekelenburg is the new favourite to succeed Edwin van der Sar at Manchester United

Mourinho to Leeds next season to get us promoted.
And the rest of the Premiership can keep their mitts off Snodgrass!

Re: Gossip thread
I think Milner and £30million for Bale is a great deal for Tottenham, thought they will lose one of their key threats the £30million will help solve all of their issues, and Milner's versatility will come in useful. If Bale goes to Manchester city what happens to David Silva, doesn't he play on the left wing?

Re: Gossip thread
Do you really want to see Mourinho at Leeds? You'll just play defensively and spend loads of money which you don't really have, then you'll go back into administration, and you will end up back at Brunton Park getting beat.Y I Man wrote:Mourinho to Leeds next season to get us promoted.

Sorry, I couldn't help it, but then again it would be nice to see Carlisle beat Leeds, so feel free to sign Mourinho. I'm surprised you didn't kick me from the chat box.

Can anyone see Enrique staying at the toon? He'd be a good buy for anyone.

Re: Gossip thread
Been a few rumours about Enrique, seems to be mainly that he could be going to Liverpool which is understandable, its an area they are fairly weak in, and he would be more likely to play in European competitions with them.

Re: Gossip thread
TL I wouldn't be suprised if he is using the contract talks with Newcastle to get a better wage out of Liverpool. All he has to do is say Newcastle are willing to offer me X amount and Liverpool will offer more to get him. Makes sense.
Now I'm away to be sick because I sound like an agent.
