I think Tommy may be extra-motivated to right the wrong of their meeting in the Shenzou Open when he spurned five match points.

Murray races through his service game to love and levels at 5-5. Where was that when he needed it?

Mind over matter. Murray's game is all about his mental attitude I say. When tuned in he gives off great signals but when off he sends out terrible signals.

Robredo comes through another lengthy service game with a hold and leads 6-3 6-5.

What a howler missed by Murray. Robredo a mini-break up at 2-1.

This may be garbage but I wouldn't say he "puts it on", it would say he grossly exaggerates.

No I honestly don't think so. He has always been very expressive and his mindset varies often in a match and with it the body language that it emanates.

I mean look at all the self-harming he does - I wouldn't say that is put on more just a bi-product of his mindset at the time.

Re: Match Commentary Thread
Andy has many faults us fans know that but so many times his matches are like an episode of Tales of the Unexpected. He looks beat yet turns it around or has a match in the bag and throws it away. It is like that Jewish saying Yerneverno

This is a good match. Lots of drama. Murray gotta be strong favourite now.

Re: Match Commentary Thread
I think he provides far more entertainment than any of the other big 4 members but that's mainly because he makes it more difficult for himself than the others
The plus for Tommy here is that he only blew 2 MPs instead of 5.

Agree, Andy makes every win look painfull, a real genocide of a win, including, screeming, swearing, acting, etc etc.
Makes the other 3 look plain

Reminds me a bit of Jimmy Connors at times but I love to see that. It shows how much they care and what they are prepared to put themselves through to get there. And just to add it is not acting in my opinion it is mannerisms brought about by his mindset. When losing a marathon point it is a mental blow and comes out with stumbling etc, he misses a shot he expects to get and you'll get self-harming and he hits a peach of a winner and you get clenched fist and a 'Come on'.

Re: Match Commentary Thread
Silly errors from Murray there but big stones from Robredo to old serve. He doesn't look nearly as knackered as he did in Shenzhen.

Robredo must be feeling pretty miserable about having lost those match points yet again.
You would have to think Andy is the favorite from here on.

Going with serve with Murray leading 3-2. I was going to say that you feel one service break either way here will win it but this is Murray playing here.

Tommy breaks to lead 4-3.
I wonder where Andy needs to get to in Paris to assure a place at the WTF if he loses here? I'd guesstimate the quarters?

Re: Match Commentary Thread
I think Andy would most likely qualify for WTF even if he were to lose today and in his opening match in Paris. But I think you may be right, QF might be required to give him 100% certainty to qualify irrespective of what the others do, if he were to lose today.

Provided it goes to seedings then yeah. Djokovic after that but he won't win it.

One thing is certain and good to see - Andy has the hunger and fighting spirit back which was so devoid at RG and Wimbledon.
