Tonight's action- thread
Evening guys,
I'm stuck at work and the internet's so slow here I can't get a stream to work for tonights action. Any chance we can get a live round by round thread going, particularly interested in Skeete-Gavin and Saunders-Eubank.
Cheers!

... Think you just started it muff.
Sykes Walsh was a decent tussle, but always only one winner. Have to say, both did themselves proud in the interviews afterwards magnanimous I'd victory and defeat respectively.
Buglioni is winning whilst ably demonstrating his mediocrity.

Yeah never saw what the excitement was all about with Frank Buglioni - i predict a few stoppage defeats ahead of him in his career unless he changes his style around / improves rapidly.

Careful with where the watching discussion goes chaps; should all know the rules by now and that was about as obvious as you could get then.
Frank as was said looking very mediocre in what is a decent albeit 'C Class' tussle. Maybe punched himself out we shall see.
Mitchell Smith up next...good little prospect and one which was interviewed for V2 Boxing!

Buglioni is awful, no technique, no defence, poor stamina and only decent power, a mile behind the domestic level men at the weight.

Buglioni was a big hope for Warren as he shifts a lot of tickets.
He's British level at his absolute best.

Cracking last round...Buglioni would have been in real trouble had that been a 12 Rounder; Domestic level fighter at best really...perhaps grab a European title as he has some power but otherwise far to many weaknesses and a very poor defence.

Hes a mile behind rocky fielding etc and i dont see him improving much

Re: Tonight's action- thread
Only caught the last four rounds, yes hes flawed, but that seemed a decent scrap.
If remaining fights are equally as competitive then it will be at least equal to last weekends ppv card.

You worry when you hear trainer coming out with that guff; I know he won't want to criticise him in public but don't let him think he's Ali; 'he was rolling with a lot of shots and then landing that counter'..!

Ian Darke is covering this on TalkSport for those that love the great man's commentary.
Eubank Jr has now swung into the bookies favourite.

Purchased Boxnation today just booked a trip to Vegas so planning a few weekends in the next couple of months.
Have to say card has been good so far.Walsh Sykes was a decent fight only ever 1 winner though Walsh looks huge at SFW. Any ideas whats going on with Michael Walsh has he had to retire for some reason that I've missed?
Buglioni was very lucky Robinson isn't a bigger puncher or there is noway he was makng the final bell.

The sooner mitchel smith realises he cant just turn up and outclass people tge better. Hes obviously a talented lad but he needs to knuckle down, put in a workman like shift, a learn to win like a professional sportsmen.

This is the 3rd fight I have seen of Buglioni and I am convinced he has NO future in the world class level.

Re: Tonight's action- thread
He is a very good operator lfc; certainly looked classy in his first few fights as a pro...clearly he may not go all the way but he has shown an ability to fight different ways and he has good footwork and nice speed. The guy he's fighting is massive in comparison in terms of height and reach...bound to give him some difficulties. Also at 22 plenty of time to improve and gather experience.
In saying all that, should be a nod to the fact he needs to slow down his own aspirations and put in some more work at this lower level before thinking about British titles.

Re: Tonight's action- thread
He looks like he could do with dropping down to featherweight, in comparison to Walsh he's tiny and he doesn't look to have much power at the weight.

Re: Tonight's action- thread
Well to be fair ozzy I've only seen him one (tonight), which is what my comment was based on. Can't fault his confidence though, clearly has great self belief!
They keep mentioning him being small at the weight and needing to drop down, sounds odd to me always assume it goes the other way.
Prince Nazeem still looking as good as ever I see...

Putting you hand in front of your face wont do you any good Nas; can still see the rest of ya!!
Yeh lfc, he's fought at Featherweight and looks a better prospect there, as Hammer said looks too small at this weight. Almost the 'Ricky Hatton' about him in that he may have to operate at a level below his comfort weight in order to be his most effective.

Will watch out for him in future Ozzy, still looked a good prospect on that performance alone.
Can't wait for Saunders eubank! They both seem to have that love/hate personality. For me I'm a big eubank fan and I can't stand Saunders!

What do people think of Skeete v Gavin? Gavin lacks anything coming back, so I tentatively back Skeete. Gavin has looked easily tagged with a jab in the past and Skeete's long arms can produce an alright jab.
I am worse for wear though

Why must beards be shaved off? Why does that rule exist? Beards are a natural occurance among real men (such as myself, since the age of 17. Honestly, fully fledged beard before I got my driver's license) and should not be stigmatised.

That's my excuse whenever I turn in an awful scorecard. Which means I'm generally plastered for any fight that's not a shut out. I had Vera/Chavez II to Vera by like, 4 or 5 rounds? God knows what poison CJ Ross and IJL have been hitting

Re: Tonight's action- thread
Nothing wrong with a beard, I was sporting something akin to a full Brian Blessed earlier this year, but it's an age old rule that you can't box with one over a certain length. I could understand in a sport like UFC where an opponent could grab Furys beard, but you can't do that with boxing gloves on!John Bloody Wayne wrote:Why must beards be shaved off? I've got the Gavin fight just starting, am I way behind or is this card running really late?

Duran used to get away with by virtue of being Duran but certain opponents were unhappy with the caveman look, going as far as saying it improved his chin.

OneTwo - certainly not minted hence the need to sit in and have a few quiet ones. Selection boxes for the loved ones this Christmas.
Hammersmith - Heading on March 22nd for 10 days.
In terms of Mitchell Smith I definitey agree with those who say he should go down to featherweight. Seen Daniel McShane box Kovacs last year and would fancy him to beat Smith at SFW.

Beards are considered padding, which can potentially numb the effects of punches.
