Tonight's action- thread
First topic message reminder :
Evening guys,
I'm stuck at work and the internet's so slow here I can't get a stream to work for tonights action. Any chance we can get a live round by round thread going, particularly interested in Skeete-Gavin and Saunders-Eubank.
Cheers!

A beard is just as natural an appendage as a thick skull, so why should an advantage be taken away? Feminisation I tells ya.
If the opponent reckons a beard's an advantage, grow one! If he can't he should be in women's boxing anyway.

You can choose to grow a beard, you can't choose to grow a thick skull.

What about Fellaini style Afro's that cover the side of your head Rowley?

And if you are capable of that, why shouldn't you? Hard hitters can choose not to throw as hard as possible, and power is natural. If they aren't made to wear thicker gloves, men shouldn't be made to shave.

Beards can also damage hands.
Pleanty of examples of fighters breaking their hands on someones hairy chin.

Excellent point, nobody's head is forced to be shaved and the head is also a legit target. Feminisation.

Sorry if I get a bit emotional on the subject of beards, my mother and father (pictured) raised me under certain morals.

The only way round it is to allow chin strap beards or goaties that way you can keep your beard and your opponent has at least more of a target to aim for.

Re: Tonight's action- thread
Are you a trimmer John or not? I trim mine on the neck, which is easy enough. However I also trim on my face, as I am very hirsute and if I don't I end up with hair under my eyes. The issue I find is you trim progressively further and further down the face by accident and end up with an over sculpted Noel Edmonds looking beard, which obviously nobody wants.

Re: Tonight's action- thread
Hirsute. Nice.
I trim the whole thing at once, never particularly short. Trimming some of the cheek to a certain point is an irritation for the reason you suggest. People who have a line along their jaw linking goatee to hair confuse me.

The old amateur rule was you must shave before a fight (no stubble allowed), you might rub in an oponents eye.
in the pro's it might influence scoring as you cant tell if its a clean blow or punch to the beard.

I had a teacher whose goatee area and hair were linked by a tiny line of beard along the cheek bone and a tiny line along the jaw. Awful man.

Also bearded men are afforded more respect both consciously and subconsciously, thus swaying close rounds.

Is there a beard forum you could continue this debate on? There are weightlifting and wrestling forums so I'd say a beard forum wouldn't be out of place.

The beard community (and I believe I can speak for all of us) do not really waste time considering such people. There is a world of difference between having a beard and having facial hair. We have Brian Blessed in our community, they have Rylan. You should not even consider such people John, they deserve little more than your withering contempt.

I agree Rowley, my brain...well, lots of other bearded people's brains are far too valuable.
SRL couldn't grow a beard, could he milky? In all seriousness, your point is taken and I am happy to end beard-related matters here.

I shave about every 3 days, go from the clean shaven boyish look to a face full of stubble and back again, can't be bothered to do it every day. Over the summer I grew a big full beard, put about 10 years on me so had to go!

They should have two rings in an arena with two fights on simultaneously, then viewer can 'red button' the fight they want to watch. This is Poopie.

It's kebab meat, pepperoni, onion, jalapeño & peppers. It sounds horrible but is actually amazing (apart from the probable 3000 calories and pint of pure cholesterol that it adds to your body).

Its dull alright. They've certainly encouraged the beard dialogue. I've always been a stubble man myself. Too lazy to shave, too vain to cover too much of my handsome face with beard.
.... Not that I'm averse to having a beard on my face if the lady in question is reasonably well trimmed.

I'm from Yorkshire, by the standards round here the fact I have not give her a pasting thus far tonight makes me somewhat effeminate.
