Who will win county championship?
First topic message reminder :
Eventful days play. At Worcester looks like a low scoring match, already well advanced. Lancs took no batting points and Worcs already have a lead approaching 50 with 4 wickets in hand. Still possible for them to come back tho.
Somerset in trouble against Hants at Taunton. Scraped 1 batting point and Hants are only 80 behind with 9 wickets in hand. With players missing Somerset may struggle to regain momentum after a disappointing performance in the final....
Warks had a good day against Yorks at Edgbaston restricting visitors to 254 for 8. But remains to see whether they can bat any better than Somerset or Lancs.
Durham 360 - 9 away to Sussex - but despite this they remain outsiders.
Warks seem best placed at this stage.

Warks seem to be making a pigs ear of things. They certainly batted far too long ....
Guildford - good prediction in this and similar comments - you were right that Warks did not show enough urgency with their batting. Ok the pitch and the bowling was different but Surrey showed a lot of drive in really starting at a cracking pace against Derbys.
Jimbo - well played Hants - hard luck in losing out to "11 losses" Worcs

Thanks, Corporal.
I actually asked at the members' forum this week if the reason our opening batsmen normally played from the start in such an attacking vein was just because that is the type of players they are or whether it was a deliberate tactical approach. Adams replied that it wasn't the latter but that all the batsmen were encouraged to play their own natural game and this had often resulted in runs being scored in good time which he welcomed as it got us ahead of the clock and gave our bowlers more time to get twenty wickets in each match.

After they batted for so long Mascheranhas was asked if they think they had and he said he was shocked.
Poor tactics IMO, maybe a bit cocky that they could bowl us out twice easily?
