David Haye Empty David Haye

Post by Double Jab Wed 14 Mar 2012, 7:17 pm

Hey fellas, I don't post very often but the Chisora situation made me think.

Now that he has had his license withdrawn by the BBBofC, would it be a huge act of hypocrisy (if that is indeed the correct term) if Haye was to be granted a license if/when he comes crawling out from under his rock in the event he is gifted a shot by Vitali or Wlad? Also what are the chances it could happen?

Nothing in boxing surprises me these days so it could realistically happen.

He probably wont get the license and cant enter germany so prob get a license elsewhere and fight elsewhere. BBBC wont dare give him a license.

Haye won't fight again. The German boxing board won't grant him a licence and the TV companies in the US aren't interested in him. No way could the BBBoC give him a licence now.

I think Haye has definitely shot himself in the toe with this one,the BBBC will have to be seen to be consistent.

Yes he did. By Randy Couture. Even though he was fighting a guy who has been doing Wrestling and MMA for years Toney came in fat condition and I think Haye would do better but that just my opinion

Toney came in Toney condition then? Haye would be in shape no doubt about that. I know nothing about MMA but I'm a big wrestling fan.

One of many poor heavyweights that was dealt with pretty comfortably by one of the Klitschkos. Not a bad Cruiserweight but no Johnny Nelson!

Problem as unkindly as spinks but it would not be as unjust.

I dont think Haye would get far in MMA taking if he only took it up now. Would be surprised if he did to be honest as the money isnt as good and that seems to be what interests him.

Why retire from top level boxing to go into MMA as a beginner of sorts? Unless it was some kind of personal challenge or something.

wow, so you can be a unified cruiser champion of the world and just be good, and become a heavyweight champion of the world, and still be a poor heavy weight!?

heard it all now.

I think statistics tell us he was one of if not the best Cruiser weight this country has seen, and a Good Heavy Weight.... all be it a bit of a Muppet.

To be fair Tunes being one of the best cruisers ever isvery much like being the brightest kid in a special needs class, it may well be true but is still no great claim, the division is and has always been one of the weakest in the sport and so when you couple that with the fact it has not been in place very long being one of the best to have graced it still does not mark you out as any great shakes, however if it makes you happier he was an extremely good crusier, but when you are talking about a division where Johnny Nelson is a top ten guy of all time you'll forgive me if I don't start petitioning Canastota.

As for heavyweight John ruiz is a three time champion so yes I do think you can be a champion and still be poor.

Thing is, the slimy head of German Boxing or Head of German Pro boxers or whatever krautish organisation it is called said that Haye was innocent and believed the BBBoC should dish out a life ban for Chisora.

If Haye was to make it back he would get a licence in Germany as they seem to like him out there and there would be a big money spinning fight. Trouble is for Haye the WBC have banned him so hopefully we won't see Haye again...

I do though have a nasty feeling we haven't seen the last of the the cretinous, loud-mouthed con from Bermondsy. Although I really hope we have!

No entry to Germany might not be a problem either.

If Haye and Vitali really did decide to make a fight happen then I think staging it in Poland/Ukraine during the Euro football tournament would make alot of sense. Plenty of fans from all nations would be abroad. England play their matches in Ukraine and Ukraine are in their opening group.

Given Haye is English an Vitali is Ukranian a fight there could be abolutely massive and would draw from a huge fanbase of both nationalities.
