Martinez vs Chavez Jr Face-Off preview

Some interesting things said between the two. I particularly liked some of Martinez's responses and digs.

I'm a bit fired up over this fight and hope to GOD that no dodgy surroundings are present during this fight (scorecards, drug testing etc etc).

Seen this yesterday mate, I think we are in for a corker face off here.

I can't stand that little daddies boy Chavez Jr. In the preview he is trying to be cocky and his eyebrows twitch about 30 times in the one sentence.

Love Martinez's composure, I hope to god (as you say) there is no dodgy decision. But I really think Martinez could get shafted BIG TIME here. PLEASE DONT LET IS HAPPEN!!!!

I have gained some respect for Chavez for taking the fight. Given the position he holds he could have ignored Martinez his whole career but if nothing else he is stepping up to the plate and is doing so with something to lose.

I dont like the drug stigma associated with him but hes only been a title holder for a year now so facing the divisions best after a 1 year period is actually pretty acceptable for someone who has so often been accused of being a ducker and a fake.

Dont see Chavez winning, at least not legitimately, but interestingly his odds are only a little less than 2/1 which seems to a shorter price than the chances most were giving him before the fight was ever announced. This time last year the impression I was getting is that people considered his chances of beating Martinez somewhere between slim and none.

I'm too scared to bet on the fight, (Or at least a real bet) Chavez has a VERY sturdy chin so a KO may not come, I'm a bit worried the judges are going to shaft Martinez as quite literally EVERYTHING seems to be put in Chavez's favour.

My balls are aching for this fight, seriously. I've been more excited for this fight than I have for any Mayweather showdown, I want to see Martinez hand him a serious beatdown, and that is one of the few times I have wanted to see that in boxing.

So excited, just hope Martinez is right there in the face off, "You can't hit me!" The slow cruiserweight hopefully will be hitting thin air all night and taking a straight left to the face.

It is one to look forward to, for sure, but these 'face-off' segments are so ridiculously hammy it's incredible. The darkened room, the sparse furniture, Kellerman sitting in the background looking like he is badly constipated. It is like a slightly less menacing version of Mastermind.

I would rather just see the behind the scenes footage of training etc etc rather than this farcical piece of amateur dramatics.

I'm rubbish at checking schedules and stuff - is the fight this weekend and is it being shown on anything other than boxnation?

Boxnation haven't picked it up they have the Alvarez mismatch instead.

This is going to be a corker of a fight, its the only time I have seen Martinez angry. He is going to absolutely annihilate Chavez Jr, its going to be brutal.

Chavez thinks he can lead with his chin, its not going to be pretty....

I'm going to write an article on this fight, I'm that excited. Not one that many outside of boxing fans are aware of, but will be an absolute belter for as long as it lasts.

Think we're going over the top re: Chavez chin and Martinez's power, but I'll go into more detail when I post my article

The Alvarez fight probably cost next to nothing to show with this other fight being on.

I'm not if Sky are even going to be showing it? Unfortunately I'm out on a stag do that weekend so will have to keep an eye on the boards over that weekend!
