First topic message reminder :

I agree Digs - what I was commenting on was not their lack of invention, but their lack of cohesion. They did not get the basics right, the least a back has to do is commit his opposite number, which becomes more important against the 'drift' defence, and then follow up and support. This was not happening yesterday, apart from Chris ashton on occasions.

I have not seen Goode play in his club matches, but on a number of occasions, he caught the ball deep, began to run, hesitated and then was caught without any support. I can't remember ever seeing Ben Foden caught like that. It is yet another sign of a lack of cohesion in the backs.

Of course, this probably is all due to the fact they are a relatively new squad and should come together the more they play together. But on the face of it, I think yesterday was a fair showing against a team that in my opinion is still there to be taken and will possibly only get one win in this series.

If you make it square then it's still got corners, in fact one more, even though the angle is increased from 60 (assuming it's an equilateral triangle) to 90.

So, you have more chance being hit by a corner, although the degree is more.
Anyone done a risk assessment to determine the likely outcome? Surely they aren't going to make them all round?

Despite the stupidity re. the flapjacks, I'd rather people in the UK were banning them than having to discuss the pros/cons of an assault rifle ban!

Seve is more the magician I think with better vision and imagination for the approach.

Both putters could let them down even if they puts themself to a foot or two from fairly outrageous positions.

Is there a case for Tiger (even though I prefer the sense of occasion round Phil/Seve up n downs)?

Isn't Mickleson a bit of a one trick pony in this respect though? If it's not got snow on it when it comes down, he's not interested. Compare & contrast the bump & run between two links bunkers that nearly deprived Johnny Miller of the Open title in '76.

I remember Pmicks first major well.

I had backed him on 12 consecutives majors..

Masters second day. last hole .

He was 10 plus foot under the green on the right hand side. Pin tight right.

he thought about the flop and his eyes were scary.. He looked like a seial killer.

But he took the putter out- (the safe play ) and put it ten foot pased the hole. At that point I knew he was going to win the thing. Nothing could stop him. Anyway he made par and won..

By all means have all the shots in the locker and practise them. But golf is about decison making and playing the right shots at the right time

Cant be bothered to look but Maybe his scrambling stats were better.

But then how ever good his flop shot is, Pmick loves a 4 putt from 4 foot!

Id imagine someone like say Tony Johnstone actually had a better short game than Seve. Basically it was a good short game that enabled him to compete whereas someone like Seve had all the talent in the world.
Its the same with Poulter and Donald really, if there short game is off they will struggle.

Well bye bye MON. Great bloke but to be fair it hasn't worked out for him at Sunderland. It's always worrying when you can't really see how your side is trying to play and we have looked like that for a while.
If Im completely honest I prefer it when we are in the Championship, we tend to win a lot more games, in the Premier League one in three is about as good as it gets and playing for say 10th place gets a bit dull.
These days you have a better chance of a cup run in a lower league as the onus is less on the pressure of your next premier league game.
No idea who we will get next , but I think whoever it is chances are we are going down.

Digs they are going mental down here on the Leicester forums to get MON back here,by far our best manager of recent times although I am a little older.
Word is he need Robertson with him though.Leicester in a bad place at the minute not scoring 1 win in 10 I think.Someone even posted a spoof sky news link overnight that Pearson had gone ,even the staff in early at the ground fell for it.

I'm not sure how well his approach works now to be honest DM. Basically push it wide and bang balls in, just not subtle enough in the Premiership and has wasted Sessignons talent IMO, though maybe he is just a bit too much of a luxury player anyway.
Am gutted we have for Di Canio, just a wildcard nutjob. Even if he keeps us up which looking at our run in is unlikely , I can only see strife next season.
