What will happen to QPR? Empty What will happen to QPR?

Post by Adam D Tue 03 May 2011, 11:38 am

Just thought I would run a quick poll to see what you think is going to happen with the promotions from the championship.

As we all know, QPR have some charges overhanging and there is talk of a 15 point deduction which would take Cardiff into second, and QPR back into the playoffs.

My questions is, what do you think will happen?

No point deduction - QPR are champs.
QPR are named champs but are not promoted as punishment.
15 point deduction - Cardiff go up
15 point deduction, QPR into playoffs and dont go up
15 point deduction, QPR into playoffs and go up anyway
5 point deduction and get automatically promoted anyway

If QPR get away with the charges and gain auto promotion, do you think Cardiff will take legal action. Also, if they get 15 points, what do you think QPR will do? Legal action - will this effect the play offs taking place?

Lets hear your thoughts.

I don't think they will lose points, and worst case if they did, they would still go up.

The FA have to be careful here cause if they drag it out it's going to scupper plans for next season and drag things out and the PL fatcats will not like it.

Why has it took the FA so long to sort this out the guy has been a qpr player since 2009. What if they deduct points then QPR appeal the West Ham trial for the same offence took a long time. They have already set a precedent with West Ham should be a heavy fine then.Althouh this ruling is garbage 3rd party ownership helsp some clubs in other countries survive or stay competitive.

The West Ham case was different because there were no formal third party ownership rules in place at the time Tevez and Mascherano were brought in.

West Ham were charged with not supplying sufficient transfer documents and acting in bad faith - not a breach of third party ownership rules; these came in after the case.

The reason then that QPR face a points deduction is that these rules are now formalised, and well known. The FA sees this as deliberate flouting of the rules, so I expect a points deduction and a fine.

I think it could be up to nine points...but I also think the FA may postpone the hearing till after next weekend so they can see how many points they could take without costing them promotion.

Wondered how they got away with fining West Ham. In that case points deduction and a large fine could be likely but to save the FA hassle probably just enough to make sure they still go up automacilly.

Just heard Simon Jordan on Talk Sport who has stated that the FA implemented the laws before QPR's signing. The signing was legal and then the FA changed them post signing, making it an infringement again. He was saying that QPR will get off scott free.

Then again, we are talking about Simon Jordan!

probably a 5 point deduction and a heavy fine, allows QPR to be champs and not cause heavy disruption by having to delay the play offs
