Surrey have named a fourteen man squad for their Friends Life T20 game against the Sussex Sharks at Hove this evening.
Jade Dernbach returns to the squad having been away with England for the NatWest T20 games against New Zealand. Matthew Dunn is unavailable after he sustained a knee injury in the game against the Hampshire Royals.
Ricky Ponting and Steven Davies are named in the squad but remain doubts for this evening’s game. Ponting’s hand injury that kept him out of the game against the Hampshire Royals is being closely monitored and Davies is still recovering from the illness that kept him out of Surrey’s FLt20 opener on Wednesday
The Surrey squad to play the Sussex Sharks at the BrightonandHoveJobs.com County Ground in the FLt20 on Friday June 28th:
Gareth Batty (capt)
Zafar Ansari
Rory Burns
Steven Davies
Jade Dernbach
Zander De Bruyn
Jon Lewis
Azhar Mahmood
Glenn Maxwell
Ricky Ponting
Jason Roy
Vikram Solanki
Chris Tremlett
Gary Wilson
if pointing and davies dont make it you would think department store would join them

Thanks, JimBob.

Agree with you about the likely starting eleven.

Disappointing that Dunn is injured. Would have liked Jewell or Edwards to be called up in his place but the new management seem committed to the old guard.

Should have seen Tremlett's omission coming. He wasn't at the races on Wednesday.

Meantime, Sir Chris starts with a wicket!

Just got back from the game

Chris Nash, proved what a crap captain he is. Let down the packed Hove Crowd.

Our bowling was ok, not really sure why we opened with Styris. Sir Jordan bowled well, but we 100% shouldn't of given him last over. Dwayne Smith who was bowling superbly well, should of had it.

Batting was crap. Wright and Smith let us down. Nash got us going, RHB played class. Yardy steady the shipped. Styris did what he did best, shame he couldn't of stuck round for longer. But i have no idea why we brought Machan and Brown in before Sir Chris Jordan.

Word on Jade Dernbach bowled amazing, clear MOTM but his attitude stunk. I have a really low opinion of him now. Never want to see him play for England again.

Been out and surprised on return to find we have won a game.  Sounds like the last over of Surrey innings was crucial.  Dernbach is a combative type and does tend to wind up Surrey supporters - as well as the opposition.

Like the Corporal, I was out last night and was equally surprised to find out on my return that we had won. I had seen our score and didn't think it would be enough. Great figures for Dernbach which seems to have been the major difference.
