Re: surrey vs essex eagles FLT20
Thanks, JimBob.
I've only been to one t20 game this season and that was when we were stuffed by Essex at the Oval. I'm therefore not feeling too confident. I know CF's boys can be hit and miss (seems appropriate for 20!) but they have a range of bowlers and bat deep with some big hitters (Tendo, Napier). I was also very impressed by Foster's keeping - he stood up to Masters which seemed to prey on our batsmens' minds. We're also now playing at the People's Republic of Chelmsford, a real bogey ground for Surrey.
It'll be a big call to play Curran, particularly considering how Jewell lost his sparkle in the CB40 at the same venue. Suspect the youngster will have to make do with delivering water bottles - perhaps, with the Brain. As ever, very difficult to call.
Hey ho. Out tonight for a famly meal so won't be on here during the game. Hope to watch a SKY recording later without knowing the result.

Roy chips in with a wicket. Coming on to bowl in front of both Batty and Ansari. 53 - 7.

Might be a good idea to take Roy out of the attack..... Considering we do have some unused front line bowlers....

Yay! Like guildford I watched it on video............or whatever that Sky box uses! Fantastic win, despite the strange Surrey line up! These wins, and progression in the tournament can only instill confidence though. Somerset in the quarters on Tuesday.........I'll be 'taping' it again! Come on the Rey!!

Indeed - and on their day if Napier and one or two others real fire, entirely possible for Essex to beat any other team, even Hants.

Jimbob, who would you have given it to? Davies certainly gave the innings some momentum. Possibly the Brain?

Corporal - you're right that Essex ended up taking a pasting although I thought they were ahead at the half-way stage.
Man of the Match is an interesting one. It was the bowling wot won it! I therefore would look there. Probably Mahmood for his couple of wickets upfront which started the carnage and left CF's boys rocking at 9-2, a position from which they never recovered. Great credit also to Batty (despite dropping a sitter) for his use of the bowlers and unusually innovative captaincy - who expected him to give Roy a bowl? The Brain too did well although the game was already up when he most cashed in.
