First topic message reminder :

1. "Duran lost to Hearns because he was much bigger at 154 !!"........Barkley was 6ft 1 and 160...........Hagler 160 and he lost by a point !!

2. "Mayweather isn't top 10 because he didn't beat anyone decent...But Louis is at 6"...............No rebuttal needed there..

3. "Hearns didn't deserve a rematch with Marvin"..Despite the Fight of the decade and knocking out the number one contender of both wbc and WBA.....love to know what you have to do for one.....

4. "Leon Spinks is better than Muhammad Ali"........

5. "Fury would knock out both Klits who are both duckers"......Have a suspicion this guy was an alias........

6. "Roach says Mayweather is overrated and he knows his stuff"...........Not that he'd be biased in anyway...

7 "Oscar isn't a great because he lost his biggest fights".........Whittaker, Chavez, Mayorga etc...........

8 "Leonard is an easy night for Hagler"..........Vito gets a draw, Duran loses by one point.......Roldan and Hamsho make Marv struggle....

9. " Robinson plays with Jones Jr".......Like he did with Turpin twice.........

10. "Truss has 9 aliases on here"............I don't like odd numbers.

I was once directed to an old 606 thread in which LRR claimed that, in contrast to what everyone else was saying, Tyson actually fought a prime Larry Holmes, and that if anyone was over the hill and disadvantaged in that fight, it was Tyson, not Larry. He justified this on the basis of Holmes going 21-3 in his career after that fight, whereas Tyson went 17-6-2NC.

Strange one!

As a former odd number OCDer, multiples of 5 don't really count as odd because of how round they are.

Got knocked out by two massive punches (doesn't matter who threw them, they were huge punches)

Doesn't even matter if the guys who KO'd him were garbage/fringe/great fighters. Doesn't even matter if Lewis should have been smart enough to get out of the way of the shots, the fact is, he was hit with very good shots that, I would wager, would have troubled a great number of decent HW had they landed flush.

There's more than enough footage of Lewis being hit by big punches and taking them with very little trouble but, we're supposed to believe that Lewis had a chin of finest Royal Doulton and would have shattered if a butterfly had passed with sixteen miles of him

Out of context again (I worry you're either 13 or slightly slow ).

You suggested Hatton and Guerrero were good wins as they were P4P (as if that means anything). I pointed out that was misleading as neither achieved anything at welterweight before or since.

Hearns hadn't campaigned at middleweight prior to Hagler but he did afterwards and proved he was world class at the weight.

Thinking about this made me think about the worst arguments I've tried to pull off in the past. I remember seriously trying to convince people that Hatton would beat Pacquiao, which seems ridiculous now. People shouldn't be embarrassed about bad predictions I don't think, as long as they can see their flaws in hindsight.
