Hogan stays with Impact Wrestling

It appears that Hulk Hogan will be returning to Impact Wrestling.

After becoming a free agent and negotiating with both Impact Wrestling and WWE, f4wonline.com reports that Impact Wrestling offered Hogan substantially more money than WWE did.

WWE's offer was said to be a "lowball" offer - and nowhere near what they've offered other big stars in recent years, like The Rock and Brock Lesnar.

Hogan's new deal with Impact Wrestling is believed to be for one year and for that year, Hogan will be paid approximately as much as The Rock and Brock Lesnar make for a single match in WWE.

thoughts? I think Hogan would have been better off in wwe as Impact Wrestling to me at least, seems like a sinking ship with their financial problems etc.

Poor old Hulk, going to a company like TNA on dire straits, will we ever get the best of him and that unlimited potential?

This is great news. It means we won't have to spend half an hour on a TNA section of the podcast for much longer.

totally agree. if he's going to do something on tv then at least work for a company that will still be around in 5 years time, don't turn down a company that you might have to go back to when impact wrestling goes out of business

Does anyone genuinely think TNA could kick the bucket soon? How much longer can they keep going? How is the relationship with Panda?

I’m not really up to speed with it all.

On the podcast at the beginning of summer I made the proclamation that within a year TNA would be out of business. I was laughed down (as usual) by my fellow podcastrians.

Hulk Hogan?

TNA keeps sinking to new depths, why would anyone believe this to be a good idea?

The fact the article compared Hogan to The Rock and Brock Lesnar is laughable though, he wouldn't offer 50% of what either of them could to the WWE.

Has the amount Rock and Brock have been making per match been rumoured or announced previously? It would be interesting to see how many wrestlers salaries are being wasted on Hogan.

That's good news. I was worried he would return to WWE.

I would've thought Hogan would be better employed at OVW, helping the next generation hone their skills...

On second thoughts...maybe not...

If they're really that desperate to keep the Hogan name, they'd be better off bringing Nick in and having a go at creating Hulkamania Mk.2.

Still, I think its unfair to blame all of TNA's woes on one person. Their single biggest failing has to be the fragmented nature of the shows and the lack of coherent storylines and feuds for the vast majority of their roster.

If they sorted this out, I'm sure they'd attract a larger long-term fanbase, start turning bigger profits and the issue of Hulk being on ridiculous wages would be more of a background subject.

Without the hulkster tna would be finished.

I might be wrong, but I presumed kayfabe was referring to TNA as the idiots in this scenario, not Hogan.

More reports have come out to say that he hasn't rejoined TNA ..... Yet.

Still isn't confirmed and I am still praying he goes to wwe so that Hero can start liking him again.

I can't see Hogan not wanting to do Mania to be honest, maybe he needs the biggest payday possible but if he's financially secure I think the ego of the man will want a WrestleMania role

If WWE offered Hogan anything even remotely close to what he's making in TNA he'd go simply for the ego trip and Wrestlemania 30 payday. Then once he fell out with Vince for the umpteenth time he'd be back in TNA quicker than a hiccup.

He's of no use to TNA anyway. His name hasn't brought them any more recognition and they can't capitalise on his past due to them having no access to his matches. If he went to WWE they would probably shift a ton of DVDs.

TNA would be best served taking advantage of his supreme leatheriness and making all their title belts out of Hogan's skin.

I'd pay £14.95 to watch CM Punk or Daniel Bryan hold Hogan above their head in celebration as Mania comes to a close.
