First topic message reminder :

I wondered how things were going , I am pretty jealous as I'm waiting for Friday for my PS4.

The Kinnect apparently works well, how does BF4 feel to have 64 players online. Is Ryse a bit of a disappointment or are you enjoying it.

Dead Rising 3 how are you getting on with it? The videos with hundreds of zombies looked cool.

I read a test on sound levels and I think its quieter than the 360. If you had a PS3 is it quieter than that?

Yeah Xbox One isn't going to get amazing free games for a bit you'd have thought, isn't a huge amount of games to choose from unlike 360. What they should be doing is releasing classic titles for free I think, don't have to have a complete remaster, a quick touch-up of graphics and they'd make a great free game.

It depends on how you approach it Crimey - you can simply let loose, let your guys do what they want and use your attacks judiciously. Or you can pause time, bring up a tactical menu and get all your guys focussed on specific enemies. I never use it except for when facing demons / closing rifts.

I played the first Dragon Age, it wasn't bad, good storyline with likable characters, I doubt its anywhere near what the new one is like gameplay-wise

The latest DA game is alot more action based than the first installment for me, which is what's made me stay away from it personally. I'm slightly saddened with where Bioware went with the DA franchise since I was hopping for a more tactical experience.

Mass Effect went the same way. Seems to be the EA influence there. Mind you, the combat in the last 2 ME games makes the first almost unplayable

I still find the combat in ME1 still fun to play but I've never been overly combat leaning in my approach to games. I'd much rather play for an RPG experience games like Wasteland 2, Divinity: Original Sin or the wonderful Pillars of Eternity. I do think Bioware did something very interesting with the original ME/DA games with adding a more action based combat to their in-depth RPG's, along the way though its become more a symptom of the time with the RPG aspect feeling tacked on.

There is a discussion within the industry if the tacking on of RPG type grinding in various genre's has gone to far as well, thus making games more grindy. There has been a lot more fusion of various genres in recent times to try and make this idea of the best all round game with all the bells and whistles, though shooter heavy is what's winning out certainly in the mainstream. I used to think 15yrs ago that it would be a great thing combining all these different aspects and gaming would be so much better, now I'm not so sure. Sometimes keeping it simple and focused on one genre aspect creates a more memorable experience.

Diablo III is fun, if somewhat linear and all-too-easy. The followers you pick up are so pathetic compared to your character that I don't even bother waiting for them, I just head straight in and kill everything myself.

What's the Neverwinter game like?

Its worth a look, I played it for a few hours the other night and levelled to lvl 9, its a bit laggy/glitch in parts but there are loads of people playing it and you get a lot of group requests but I haven't had the need to group yet with my fighter

I had a try of the Neverwinter game a few nights ago, graphically it's like being back on the original xbox, reminded me a lot of the old Baldurs Gate series.

I bought Alien Isolation the other day, I know it got reviews as poor as 6/10 from some places but I'm addicted to it. Really atmospheric, but I'm a fan of the movies which might be why I'm enjoying it

Also got Sunset Overdrive as well, don't think I could spend hours at a time on there, but is fun enough to kill an hour if you find yourself sat around waiting for something

I'm looking forward to this more and more as it draws closer. Just read that they're gonna be giving a free car DLC each month because of repeatedly pushing back the release date, and the first car free is the Lykan hypersport which is the hypercar from F&F 7 0-60 in 2.8 seconds, not too shabby, imagine Forza and its PS4 equivalent will be charging some sort of fee for that car as DLC

I agree with Azzy. Although not a huge fan of the Assassins Creed series I have played most of the recent entries and Black Flag is the only one where I can't remember a glitch (unlike Unity which had more than all the others I've played combined).

Black Flag is the most enjoyable installment I've played so far just for the sea battles alone. Visually very impressive (I played it on the PS4 so not sure if there was any difference between that and the Xbox One version) and although I didn't actually complete it I did put a decent amount of time into it.

I have a download code for the full version of Black Flag on the Xbox One if anyone is interested. It came as part of the bundle with the console and Unity. I've checked with Microsoft Canada and the code will work in the UK. Free as long as it's someone with a an Xbox One (basically someone who will not sell it on).

Don't get me wrong I'm really enjoying it, think its brilliant. Just wish the chap would run were I ask him to every once in a while, suppose it was unfair to call it a bug, its more an unresponsive control feature, doesn't take away from my enjoyment of the game though

Think the sea battles are excellent

Agree with that, nothing more frustrating than when your trying leg it away from a group of chasing soldiers only for your character to automatically shoot off at an angle and end up perfectly still crouched on a 2' high ledge where they easily finish you. I have only played about an hour or so of Unity but it did seem a bit better in regards to that (or maybe I just haven't played it enough yet).

That's convinced me to get Access. $30/16 quid for the year with the promise that they will never be taken away (unlike PS Plus where you loose everything if you don't keep your annual subscription) seems reasonable to me. Currently downloading FIFA 15 & Need For Speed Rivals. May also try Madden 15.

Anyone know if Battlefield 4 is worth downloading? Did they ever really fix all the issues? I'm not much of a multiplayer gamer, I have got a Gold membership but haven't bothered entering it yet as the free games for Xbox One have not interested me.

I paid for BF4 and found it the best FPS since the first Modern Warfare. Great game and great maps.

I also always download the freebie games, usually they're aimed at younger players so my boys enjoy them for a while and can always uninstall them to ensure I've got them at a later point if fancy going back.

I've got so many indie type games from PS Plus that I have downloaded and never got around to playing that I just haven't bothered doing the same with Gold yet. I'm hoping Ori and the Blind Forest comes up in the future.

Thanks for the recommendation on BF4, downloaded it over night although not played it yet. Is EA Access region specific? Here in North America we can currently get BF4, Madden 25, FIFA 14, Peggle 2, NFS Rivals, PvZ Garden Warfare, UFC, NBA 15, Madden 15, NHL 15 and just added FIFA 15.
