India-A in Aus - Page 2 Empty India-A in Aus

Post by KP_fan Sun 06 Jul 2014, 10:15 am

First topic message reminder :

in a 3 day ( or is it a 4 day game) India finished with 304-6 on D1
not bad given the opponents was of the quality of Mitch Marsh, Faulkner,Cutting, Henriques

Jiwanjot, Ojha and Tiwari got runs and per reports Tiwari looked very good and missed a 100 for the taking.

I think Jiwanjot should be opening instead of Uthappa....
while Uthappa might work in limited formats as an opener....Jiwanjot is probably a better longer format opener.

The pace line of Yadav, Bumrah and Kulkarni to be kept an eye on....this will be the feeder to our main tour in Eng should some of our pacers break down on the long tour.

far more serious and comeptitive this game than India's charade practice game or the seemingly scripted MCC/ world XI game

Phillip Hughes continues to make history.

Becomes the 1st Australian to register a double hundred in a List A match.

Pummelled Proteas A into the dirt and ended up 202*.

You can see why Australia want him to succeed.

Good to see him score more runs.
Must have really taken to the bowling. Once he gets going... he tends to go on with it.

Very glad to see Rishi Dhawan performing for India A. He does remain a work in progress, but is a very exciting prospect nevertheless.
Rishi bats 6 for his Ranji side and takes the new ball. Hope he can come in at 5 in all formats besides taking the new ball. His limited overs batting record isn't great, needs more time at the middle to try and learn to build an innings and balance the same with the tempo of the innings.
More of a test prospect at the moment though IMO, and so his non-selection for the FC games is still disappointing......

Ind-A won 6 out of seven games...Samson topscored..rayadu, Tiwary and Jadhav played well....Patel and Dhawan did well.

Jadahva is the best stroke player in India right now...just needs to show a bit more consistency.

a lot of good back-up talent in all departments

Jadhav does deserve a chance with the ODI side. Should come in that Yuvraj position.......
