Thanks Jimbob - great news that Steve Davies is back.
I agree that Burke is most likely to miss out - without him we would still have six bowlers.

A bit of a dangerous assumption here...but assuming we beat Middx tonight and tomorrow's game against Sussex is washed out, can we still qualify? apols if this post has guaranteed a defeat for Surrey this evening

Hi Chichester - really need input from a bright young thing like Olly for your question. All my concentration is used up on our quest to return to the Promised Land. However, there's a post on the wallpaper (supporters' club) site that says we'll be ok if the Glam v Gloucs t20 is also washed out. All assuming - as you say - we win tonight!
Btw, you were bang on the money the other day about Dirk Nannes. Past his sell by date when we got him but still acting as if he was the bee's knees!

Middlesex 45 -1 after 5 overs. Could do with a wicket or several to disrupt flow of runs....

Middlesex and Simpson off to a good start - 45/1 off 5. Could do with a wicket ....

Batty and Ansari pulling it back a bit but Simpson still there and now Morgan ... 82/2 off 10 ... could go either way ,,,,

Franklin hits Tom Curran for four boundaries in a row.
Immediately followed by two sixes by Morgan off Dernbach....

Re: SURREY vs MIDDLESEX /SUSSEX SHARKS NATWEST T20 BLAST
185 - 5. About 25 more than it should have been after we reined them in during the middle overs. On the other hand we would probably have settled for this score after the brisk start made by Middlesex batsmen.
I'm not convinced by the logic of taking Batty and Ansari out the attack when they were both bowling economically.

It was looking as if we were going to restrict them to around 160 but overs 18 and 19 have really changed things. Looks very uphill from here.
Not entirely Chichester's fault, just mainly!

Well, if the rain holds off tomorrow, the Corporal might at least enjoy a taster from the Burger Van!

Very disappointing, particularly as we seemed the team with real momentum after recent t20 games.

The good news is - during the unbroken last wicket Surrey partnership Dernbach scored his 100th run in the competition. It's only taking him 104 matches to get there....

Also, Sam Curran scored a career best 17* in T20.

Well to put it quite frankly, if we can't beat the worst side in the group when the pressure is on we don't deserve to go through.
Concentrate on the county championship now, and rotate the side for the 50 over competition and give guys like Burger Van, Solanki, et al a pop in that
