So this fight has now been called off following a rib injury which Kell picked up in training yesterday...

Obviously not a major loss of a fight given the relatively poor opponent in the first place, however the card has even less intrigue now (of what very miniscule amount was left anyway). The talk is that the fight will be rescheduled however I have a feeling all is not as it seems and Matchroom/Khan have almost tied up a March showdown next year.

What are people's thoughts with the postponent & do they see the fight going ahead at a later date?

If the injury is real then surely questions have to be asked as to what he was doing sparring a week out from the fight....given the amount of stick one David Haye got then surely the same 'poor judgement' remarks can be passed Kell's way..

Oh that's mighty convenient....

Wonder whether he'll be fit to fight on the December show with Joshua/Whyte and then miraculously turn that into a PPV....

Disappointing but "Special K" is still young, learning and a great prospect so he has many big fights in front of him

Wow, is the card still going ahead?

It was free by the way...

I thought it was a good fight, maybe Khan and Brook will get it on?

Didn't know it was free, needed to be though.

You could well be right there and it would make sense if they have secured the Khan fight, but also as somebody else mentioned reschedule this fight for the Joshua bill & turn it ppv. Makes sense for Hearn.

You do have to question his approach to training less than a week before the fight, especially if he was sparring hard, surely he was ready and just needed to work on his weight and coming in in tip top condition?

Thought this would happen. If Hearn had intended to let this go out on sky sports I would have expected a big magnanimous song and dance about it. Think it will end up on a PPV with Joshua

Was it supposed to have been a sparring injury? Even more suspicious considering Brook and Ingle are on record stating they barely spar before fights (and when he does its only an exercise in finding his range and timing - no rough stuff).

That is whats been reported on the BBC website, happened on Thursday and according to Eddie Hearn they will reschedule the fight for the end of the year.

So topping the Joshua bill and it'll now be ppv it would seem, although Hearn hasn't actually said this.

Kilts damages his calf (wife is admitted to a clinic for post natal depression at the same time), kilts v fury is off, the card is no longer viable as a Ppv. Brook gets a rib injury and is sideslided.
Get well soon champs!!

Looks like a perfect storm to call this off. No Fury v Klitchsko on the same night, can be moved back to the Joshua v Whyte day and secure another PPV. Plus Khan starting to mention Brook's name now Pacquaio seems to be looking elsewhere. I guess this gives them time to negotiate with Khan, whilst it can be moved to the Joshua date if they can't reach an agreement with Khan.
