SURREY VS SOMERSET SPECSAVERS COUNTY CHAMPIONSHIP

SURREY HAVE NAMED A 14 MAN SQUAD (guildford )FOR THE SPECSAVERS COUNTY CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH AGAINST SOMERSET AT THE KIA OVAL STARTING ON SUNDAY.
Zafar Ansari returns to the squad having recovered from the thumb injury he sustained in the game against Lancashire last season at the Emirates Old Trafford. Mathew Pillans in included in a Championship squad for the first time but Sam Curran is unavailable for selection having returned to school for the summer term.
There is no place in the the squad for james burke this time.
stuart meaker and jade dernbach remain on the treatment table.

Hi JimBob and thanks for the thread with CAPS as usual.

It may not be a hospital pass but it's definitely a bobbling ball when you ask us to say who will miss out. Very, very hard to take control of that.

Agree with you about Wilson missing out although even that's tough as he scored well pre-season and continues to do so in the stiffs.

If Ravioli is not fit enough to be on the menu team sheet, I'll take a punt on Dunn being the other one to miss out. Pillans' greater control and Batty's experience might just get them the nod.

If Ravioli makes it, Batty's experience becomes less of a factor and so Olly might get his wish!

172/1. Sanga looking well headed to 3 figures. Playing anything at all short or wide with complete confidence and power. Sensible support being provided by Burns.

C Overton the best of the Cidermen's bowlers but even he can do nothing atm to halt Sanga. Felt sorry for Leach having to bowl before lunch - nothing in the green top wicket or the bitterly cold conditions to help him. Does make me question again though Batty's own inclusion.

Gutted.  The moment I decide to turn on radio commentary Burns dismissed next ball.   Often happens that way, which is why I rarely listen to Church et al when Surrey are batting.
