Canelo Agrees To GGG Fight.....In Sep 2017
Looks like Liam Smith could be in the frame for Canelo.
Eubank Jr. favourite to face Golovkin.
Sign of the times this but what a shame.

FFS I think I could boil down to MW and fight Canelo by September next year.
What an absolute helmet!

The only question is this: which blatant ducker is worse? Canelo or Stevenson?

Stevenson by a distance, Canelo just does what he's told.
I honestly believe Canelo wanted the fight.

Hopefully, it helps put the madcap 606v2 theory that Golovkin hasn't really been avoided by anyone (and has played up to the fact he has in order to allow him to fight poor opposition) to bed.
The idea that a guy who boils down from and enters the ring at a higher weight than Golovkin needs to build himself up to middleweight over the course of 15 months is an absolute joke.
Have a feeling, too, that Eubank Jr. is merely bandying around Golovkin's name as he has a fight this weekend.
Golovkin and Rigo - two careers going nowhere because they are too good for everyone else. What a sport!

The idea that Canelo can twice sign to fight a guy understanding that GGG is next, back out both times, and still have people trying to say he'll take GGG soon... Stockholm Syndrome is strong in boxing

Got to be honest, I can't agree that Eubank is dropping Golovkin's name.
He genuinely wants the fight imo. Everything he's said points to that imo. What a fight it is too(they both beat Canelo imo,) right up there with some other great fights coming up soon such as Porter/Thurman, Frampton/Santa Cruz and Ward/Kovalev.
If there are any others I should be looking out for, please let me know? Thanks in advance.

Eubank beats Canelo? Come on now. Wouldn't even be competitive. Say what you like about canelo he is very well schooled, eubank often looks clumsy and can't box for three minutes. Doubt it'd be competitive

Can't rule out Canelo entirely but yeah I'd make Eubank a strong favourite I think. Be a good fight though wouldn't it and we'd get to know a lot more about both of them. I think someone's going to crack Canelo's chin one of these days. I base that on what I saw in the Kirkland fight. But Canelo's got a great right hand himself, woud like to see Eubank eat one of those Canelo right hand's flush. Could turn into one hell of a punch up. Styles make fights, has to be a good one that.
But from a business and psychological perspective you have to wonder if DeLa Hoya has got this one right. He's damaged his man's reputation and you'd guess also he must have sown a lot of doubt in the mind of Canelo by this.
Guess we won't know till we see the ratings for Canelo's next fight. If it's Smith, what a fight that's going to be too. Canelo/Smith , wow I love that fight. Styles make fights. I think I prefer it even to Canelo/Eubank.

Smith and Eubank stand no chance against Alvarez, Saunders might make it competitive for a bit but neither have the power or skill to deter him.

Nice balanced post as usual hammer.
You got some nerve passing off opinion as fact after your last prediction.

Perhaps the Moderation team can insert a preface of "in my opinion" for all Hammer's posts, just to avoid any nastiness caused by his predictions being mistaken as statements of fact.Herman Jaeger wrote:Nice balanced post as usual hammer.

I used to be one of the guys ribbing GGG. It is clear to be seen, Top Middleweights are afraid to fight him. If not them, their promoters.

Terence Crawford vs Viktor Postol will settle top dog status (I've given up with the lineal thing) at 140 and is potentially the best fight of the lot.

Crawford Postol, knew I'd missed one thanks Haz, honestly this is a great fight, a unification to decide the best light welterweight in the world. Am very intrigued by this fight. Honestly never seen Crawford fight live but watched a recording of his last fight. Is he as good as some people think, and will he be big enough to compete against a big light welter in Postol, who holds a very sound win over Matthysse? That's better than anything Terence has done so far. He looks very talented Crawford, good chin I think but not unhittable. This will be the fight that will show if Crawford's the real deal imo. Like to see the winner fight Mikey Garcia who's probably coming back at 140. And then you really will know the best 140 pounder in the world.

I love Crawford but this is his toughest test - Postol has every chance here. Crawford reminds me of the really good technical boxers from the 80s such as Mark Breland - he can do everything.
Heard a rumour Pac could fight Broner next - possibly at 140 also.

I think Broner needs a decent win before he deserves a shot at Pac to be honest.
What else, oh yeah, I think if Porter beats Thurman we might see Floyd come back for his 50. If Keith wins and is impressive, I think Floyd stays put. I don't know what problem Floyd has with Thurman.

Postol did struggle with Hank Lundy though and Crawford dispatched on him with ease
Something tells me that Crawford is that good that he will win
Superb fight though, Crawford is a star in the making IMO
Rumours that Pacquiao might be coming back, will they make that fight after Postol if he comes through?
