Game is Frak.
Just throw the ball at your opponent when they try to tackle you

Smith is hinging in the scrums.
England are not protecting their possession enough, and while their play in the air is better than it has been for a while, Wales have a definite edge there. England are making yards but losing composure in the red zone.
Watson’s yellow is the first instance of something that is going to be a huge problem at the RWC. Now that players have to clearly wrap the arms, there are going to be a lot more knock ons in the tackle. If they are all going to be treated as deliberate, it’s going to ruin the game.

You can't make a yellow out of that kind of scenario when there's so much focus on using your arms in tackles - he was fully committed to the tackle.
Going to be huge controversy at the WC if that's what refs are being told to do!

A deliberate knock knock on should be where you arm bats the ball down. Of the ball bounces off you in the tackle then it’s not deliberate.
Crazy crazy law. If it’s so open to opinion then by all means penalise but it shouldn’t be a card offence like that

George Ford, Eddie Jones, Owen Ferrell......the brians of english rugby.
I don't want to be negative its just so predictable, and it doesnt matter that its only a friendly, as we've seen this too many times before.
All very boring.

Also I really don't understand world rankings if Wales winning this will make them top - they're playing a team below them at home, just as NZ did earlier!

Pretty turgid stuff but Wales will certainly be the much happier team. Pretty uninspiring from England.
I don't get all the negativity about Biggar - his style of play is perfect for Wales and they've still got as much of a chance with him at 10 IMO

Australia are a couple of rankings below England so a win v them is not worth as much. Fair enough I reckon.

Looks like Wales are the best side in the world. 1 loss in two seasons is better than any other side so fair enough.

Re: WALES VS ENGLAND - MATCH THREAD - Friendly????
Yellow was fair I think. Watson was trying to make it look like a tackle bit clearly trying to cut off the pass and wales did have an overlap.
Incidentally the director of the tv feed is atrocious. We've missed countless lineouts and the buildup to the try.

Are you really allowed to take a penalty, when the opposition are in the middle of changing an injured player during a stoppage, a player who has been carded is still on the field and three "waterboys" are on the pitch distributing water? I always thought the ref had to blow the whistle once play had stopped to restart play.

Why would you have to wait for the opposition to be ready? Defeats the purpose of a quick penalty, no?

Seen plenty of tries scored from catching the opposition napping after the penalty has been awarded. Don’t need to wait for them to be ready.

So is “slide down in the tackle to milk the penalty” officially part of the Gatland playbook now?

But players need to get the ball to ground otherwise they’ll be turned over for being held up. They have to ‘slide down’ to reach the ground!

Well done ref, got the result you wanted or felt intimidated to give. I have never seen an international game of rugby that one sidedly refereed. Awful!

90 seconds is not a quick penalty, Youngs has been pulled back twice for taking legitimate quick pens

Hes just jones then ed.
Dont think jones will be too scared about facing this wales team come the world cup. Get a proper 7 out there or 2 in underhill and curry and we'll be fine. He'll also be pleased by the defence.

Oh come on. There’s going to ground, and there’s milking it. Biggar’s mate even slapped an arm in his face to hold the offending arm in the tackle.

Pretty poor game and ref performance. How biggar didnt get a yellow for that bizarre tackle. Welsh players all over the ball, not releasing tackled players, Moriarty being a dirty I am a twonk of the highest order.

I am not complaining about Wales winning the game. But regards Wales try. Should it have been allowed to stand? What with players still going off the field.
It was a real test match today and a good win for Wales. But i just question whether the try should of stood.

Re: WALES VS ENGLAND - MATCH THREAD - Friendly????
Wales showed a lot more of their old self today, but that ref, he needs to go back to reffing school games.
I have never seen an international referee miss so much at the breakdown and maul. Not releasing, playing the ball when not supporting your own weight, in at the side, collapsing the maul. England as usual struggled to adapt to the way the ref wanted to play.
I still can't get over allowing that try, it wasn't a quick penalty, play had stopped, players were being carded and replacements were being made for what presumably was an HAD. If quick pens are allowed in that scenario with none playing personnel still on the field the game is going to go pot.

You’re usually sensible but this is a really poor argument. Biggar had to get to ground, Ludlam could have let him go and stood his ground but chose to go for the neck. Clear as day penalty.

should have stood up like a man, ignored the crowd and done his job, which was to call it back until he restarted the game

From my memory, Ludlam's arm only entered the neck area once Biggar's weight was on the ground, therefore no danger to the player, The welsh player swinging his arm into Biggar's face was more dangerous

Ref blew his whistle and play started again. England were napping. Every forum and social media outlet outlet I look at is full of English crying, I'm not sure why you always do that when you lose.

The laws state you can’t go for the neck, because when you do there’s danger to the player. Go back and watch it with your eyes open because you’ve already got your previous call wrong. No arrogant comments from you this week either, I wonder why that is....

I am not crying, Wales won fair and square. I am just questioning the try by North when Wales took the kick off before Watson even left the field.
