Now that the Stickies have been edited, is it possible to consider Grumpy's request to have this pushed to Sticky Status?

The Admin might be ambivalent about the Golf Board these days, but those of us who post regularly and try to support it aren't, so wonder if there might be some reassessment of desirable stickies? Threads that help establish what the Board is all about.

Not sure what the origin of stickies is but it never seemed we had an outageous number compared to other Boards.
Perhaps the criteria should be:
Global announcents and messages from Admin and/or Mods.
Ongoing threads such as Ned's Fantasy League, Davie's "game today", grumpy's eclectic thread.
Any other regular article/thread or one that is a statement of what the Golf Board is about. Implicit there is a commitment from the originator that there will periodically (once a week?) be a replacement. Am not fussed whether that includes my PGA Tour Notes or Mav's E.T. article as these are fairly active anyway. But making them stickies helps visitors find them at a click.

no game for me this weekend, babysitting!

I should be getting my first round underway this Saturday! Out of the starting blocks at last - but not played for 3 weeks, so not expecting much!

Woo-hoo, look at you Mary kicking it off now. As you've not played for a few weeks you'll probably start your round with low expectations and then find that you'll play quite well. Most likely because you're not really trying to play and just want to get it round as such. Good luck Grumps

Played today, but we had all temporary green due to last nights frost, so it would be unfair to put in a card, for a course that was at least a thousand yard shorter than the proper course (those bloody greens only scored 31 stapleford points)

Aaargh - only managed to play 15 holes before the light got too bad. We were stuck behind quite a few four balls, so the round took longer than usual.

Game canceled again, Clubs will be given god cleaned and put away till after new year now i think, Hope i can get 6 rounds in then

Wooo new plan, first 9 is now open, will play this as a round for eclectic if that is ok

Reasonable round on Saturday for Eclectic R3 given the conditions i.e. frosty with greens that don't take an approach shot! Think I picked a few shots. Will PM scores Grumpster.

A very average round for me yesterday. Absolutely no birdies and after 12 holes I was already 8 over. Thankfully managed to par the last 6 which included the only two bogies I had left on my eclectic card.

Could you put me down for a round for this Sunday please. It's some sort of Christmas Shotgun thing which may help me avoid my usual back nine collapse. Well it might not help it but they'll be different holes I collapse on!

That said one of my fourball is the President and another is this year's Captain so despite it being a "random" draw it wouldn't be a huge shock to end up playing off the first.

nice one setup - i'm done for this year. off on Saturday for Christmas and New Year at my parents, which is conveniently located near my 2nd club, so will be getting plenty use out of the country membership providing the snow stays away!

Could I put in a speculative shout for a round on Tues 27th as I'm lagging behind - no plans as yet but hope to get out for a game that day if left in peace for long enough.

A very pleasant 11 degrees today in London, a little cloudy and breezy but all in all fantastic weather for this time of year (not much braving of elements required). Managed to get round just before the rain swept in... perfect timing!

Was worth it as I managed to finally get a birdie on my eclectic card, and I also rolled in a 20 footer on 18 to half the match with my mate. Perfect way to finish off the 2011 season.

Apologies Grumps, didn't manage to get out yesterday as visiting the in-laws for the day. Clearly need to sort my diary out better in advance - lovely day to play down our way too.

Played yesterday as hoped but achieved absolutely nothing. Three putted the 9th for a bogey which was about the only chance I had to better a score!
Won't bother sending the wreckage over unless you need it if that's OK.
