What is this reading off a card before the semi final? Just pure UEFA propaganda. They say they are doing this respect diversity campaign but the fact is that they give out more in fines for sponsorship wrongdoings than racist chanting. It has been proven at this tournament

I'll be honest, I don't think any of the Spanish forwards can do it at the highest level. Llorente and Negredo are alright but not world class for me, Torres is horribly out of form.

I'm not sure, I won't be able to say whether they can do it or not until I've seen Llorente but Negredo does seem to do very little at international level. Some players do little and score, some don't.

To be fair to Portugal, their midfield is holding up much better than I thought.

Anyone know when the transfer window opens? Is it Sunday/Monday?

Giroud.....filling RVP's boots. Hopefully M'Vila goes to Arsenal (looking less likely today) and then I will have the spine of my team as Arsenal, and with two Juve players with side.

Kagawa I'm not sure on, he's evidently a great player just not sure where he fits into how Utd play

But then you won't win the league. Or anything.

Can't see how that front 3 will work. Podolski and RVP are both left footed and Giroud is not a winger. Giroud is an odd one; Wenger may start playing like Stoke now.

That's the beauty of Spain. No one sits in midfield, all their midfielders dart in and around between the midfield and defence, causing problems, no one knows who to mark and that leads to gaps and goals.

Well, knowing how scrooge like Wenger is with the purse strings, I doubt they have spent 12m on a sub.

Del Bosque has made a blunder here.

He has bought Pedro and Navas on as wingers. But has no striker, so when they beat there FB (as they are) they have no one in the box. Poor management

S.Bender, L.Bender, Kroos and Turan for Khedira and Schweinsteiger, i'm happy as I have a world class CM pairing, and Russell improves his squad and options.

Fifth penalty is rarely the crucial one though, I reckon 3rd or 4th is vital. If you're going 2nd you can never know whether you'll get to take one anyway.

Felt bad for Alves, he had been supreme before that, and Pepe too. Absolute steamrollers as a pair.

Spain didn't deserve it, Portugal matched them and kept them quiet but just missed the quality striker.

Anyway I'm glad Spain won and that has nothing to do with having them in the sweepstake Whistle

I forgot the sweepstake actually - but I still get £2m out of it.

I think Portugal got tired in the second half and Spain took over. They were always going to struggle with the intensity they played with early, but it really did unsettle Spain.

I think if Germany win tonight and Spain don't play with either Torres or Llorente in the final, they're in big trouble. Negerdo never showed up, they needed movement. And I didn't understand the decision to bring on two out and out wingers with no natural striker.. Strange management. But heyho what do I know, they're in the final again so I'll zip it.

Yeah, Navas came on and beat his man a couple of times and looked to whip a ball in and no one was there.

Would have made more sense to bring Navas on and see if he could set up Negredo, they know each others game after all.

I thought that. Negredo wasn't getting the kind of service his game thrives on. He's not a short passer kind of player. He likes balls coming into the box.

Spain finally brought someone on who could provide it, but it was after Negredo had gone off

Morning

Bento asked Ronaldo to be the 5th penalty taker, Ronaldo has always take one of the last penatlys Euro 2004 and WC 2006. There is not gurantee that Ronaldo would score anyway, Alonso missed and before the penatlys are taken it is always the 5th penalty that will win or lose a game.

All penalties are as important as each other tbh. I'm not sure the pressure gets any easier if when you take the penalty changes
