Hello and welcome to the Virtual Rugby Pub, a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.

The pub has made its way to Hopetoun House, Edinburgh - where the Management Team for the 2013 British & Irish Lions tour party to Australia was announced.

“This is the next chapter in the 2013 tour story," said tour manager Andy Irvine.

The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no tampering with the pictures of Warren Gatland,

Thursday night is rubbish for watching a rugby match. You'll never attract casual supporters to a match on a Thursday night.

No, Wednesday night was always Rugby night, a tradition which should be resurrected in the Premiership.

Oh well, I kinda knew this would happen. If we beat Mogliano the week before it will likely be a 'dead game' at Rodney Parade. Unless the Dragons pull off a bonus point win at Bayonne*.

If they do that then they will need a bp win v Wasps and beat us by 14 points to take top spot.

* Bayonne cannot qualify if we beat Mogliano (which we should) so they may not show up against the Dragons.

Interesting. I didn't think we could qualify at all. It would be great if we were still in with a shout going into the match, but it's highly unlikely we'll get a bonus point away to Bayonne.

Christmas shopping nearly finished.

And, the Ulster v Glasgow game is on the Friday night which fits in very nicely with the plans of Mr T Bowe's greatest fan.



All we need now is for my fav knee surgeon to say it was all a precaution and the lad is fit to play!!!!

LLucky. The table is:-Wasps 16pts Dragons 11pts Bayonne 11pts.

I believe qualification comes down to head to head results between the two teams if both are level on points. As I said, a bp win for us against Mogliano means that Bayonne can equal our points tally if we get nothing from the Dragons game, but they cannot overhaul us on the head to head rule.

The Dragons, on the other hand, still have to play us, so they can ‘win’ the head to head result if we both end up on the same points. IF Dragons get a bp win in Bayonne and Wasps get the expected 5 pointer against Moggy, then Wasps and Dragons will go into Round 6 on 21 and 16 points respectively.

There is a 13 point 'result' difference in Wasps favour from the game at Adams Park, ergo if Dragons win the final game with a tbp (and deny us one) and beat us by 14 points, you will top the Pool.
