The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub Empty The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub

Post by Guest Sun 19 Jun 2011, 9:07 pm

Welcome to the virtual rugby pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.

The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no defacing the Tommy Bowe photo on the bar. That's a banning offence

So pull up a chair....what'll it be? appletini

Yes there is Cymro, it's around about the 1,000 post mark, so it's just easier to set up a new one even if there is room for a few posts left on the old one Smile

Awesome stuff. His putting is on another level to where it was previously. 2 under for his round and noone seems able to to jump out of the pack

It does Cymro- this is the final round so if you're not a fan (or even a bandwagoner like me) you can expect a lot of comments tonight and then not much more thumbsup

Hound,

That's why I think that it is such a shame Brian Ashton isn't involved in any the RFU is some capacity because he always taught players to be able to play what was in front of them.

That's why I like Wade as I think he has that natural instinct and it hasn't been coached out of him.

They'll sniff me out as the fairweather fan I am. I'm just so proud of Ulster Rugby's most famous supporter!

As the rest of this little corner of the world is, we're all golf fans suddenly. We were all rugby fans in 1999 now we're all golf fans Wink

I have to say I don't really follow Golf but I'm nearly as excited about McIlroy winning the US open as I was about Ireland winning the GS. He seems like a great kid and I'm yet to meet anyone who has a bad word to say about him.

I always followed the Irish golfers (and european also) but since Rory is often at Ravenhill i have embraced him as a fellow Ulster fan. There was quite a stir when he signed some autographs for a few terrace dwellers (i think it was after the masters collapse) and i would expect him to be well received the next time he is at Ravenhill

Very well received. He's been known to fly back to Belfast between tournaments just to 'Stand Up For the Ulstermen' at Ravenhill.

And a friend too many of the current Ulster players. Hopefully they are watching and getting inspired for the coming season!

Sorry Munsty, I was headed home and then needed some grub. Ashton was very harshly treated by England imo. But a lot went on at the last RWC that had a significant bearing in terms of senior players usurping his authority.

As for Wade, he's at Wasps and players are definitely encouraged to play what they see. You still need leaders though and, as a group, Wasps didn't have that last season.

If Wade has a problem he needs to cure it's that he is so quick that he gets isolated and is either stripped of the ball, or gives away a penalty for holding on.

Go on Rors!! thumbsup Wink

Finally getting to see the golf.at a.decent hour tonight, been working late both Friday and Saturday so had it on the sky+ to watch when I came in.

Rory is doing exactly what is needed if him today, no need to push it bit still under par, he's going to finish at about -19 but is love him to get to 20

I know this may sound trite, but, as is my wont - I dont give a damn.

I love the fact that the 4 provinces are one in Rugby, golf teams, boxing et al. Sports we over-excel at for our size. We need Ulster. Ulster need us - in sport. It makes us so much stronger. Combine it and anything is possible. Imagine.

NOT politics - just Sport. A common human-bond that transcends all.
The whole of Ireland and all Paddies (North & South) - everywhere in the World - are with him
right now. Sharing in the pride for such a small island. I think that's beautiful.

Oh MY God! What a shot.

"Henrik Stenson needs a bit of medical assistance after destroying an iron on 15. He tugged his approach into the rough and took out his frustration on the poor club which bit back as it snapped in two. A free lesson for us all."

Notch, when you go to Ravenhill and meet Roars, tell him for Gawd's sake to change his profile on the European Tour website

He is a fan of Man Utd - but it doesn't mention Ulster Rugby - traitor or what!!
