surrey vs essex county championship division 2

Chris Adams has named an unchanged squad for Surrey's LV= County Championship match against Essex at Chelmsford, starting on Wednesday 7th September.

Essex have named a 12-man squad for their final match of the season when they entertain Surrey at The Ford County Ground in the LV= County Championship.
Tymal Mills and Reece Topley are added to the side that were beaten by Kent last week, although Maurice Chambers is omitted.

Cricketfan - I agree with you generally although at a Surrey forum last week Hyphen (Rory Hamilton-Brown) said how fast and dangerous Tymal Mills was on the Chelmsford track.

yh but mills dosent play a lot, and is still only young, we need some more experience to go with masters.

Mills is among 13 players named today today in a Potential Emerging England Players Programme planned to be held over the next few months in Loughborough and then India (fast bowlers only) and Sri Lanka (all other players). Suggests Hyphen knew what he was talking about.

Essex's Adam Wheater and Surrey's 'Clive' Dunn are also in the 13.

In a separate seventeen man Emerging England Players squad (again young players but presumably closer to having fulfilled their potential!) also named today, Surrey supply 3 players: Meaker, Maynard and - yes -Le Roi . This also involves training for all at Loughborough and then overseas (country dependent upon type of player). It's expected that several of this group will be able to put themselves in the frame for the squad to be named in December to tour Bangladesh and Sri Lanka with the England Lions in 2012.
