This could well and truly be over before tonight's session. Hope it isn't. I love watching the final of the snooker late at night, something about it, suppose the tradition of staying up late to watch the snooker carrying over from the 70's and 80's.

I'm not going to go into a load of negativity. The occasion has obviously somewhat got to Carter which is unfortunate, but not that surprising. If Ronnie takes this one also, it may well be over this afternoon.

It will be 17-8 end of the session. Carter will then hire Ebdon to do a job on Ronnie behind the scenes.

I honestly think both will quit after this final, unless Carter feels he can get back to the top of the game.

This is a bit of a shame really. Slightly anti-climax. Not to take anything away from O'Sullivan, but he hasn't been at his best in this final apart from in patches. But then he hasn't needed to.

Is this a repeat of yesterday's thing about Ray Reardon? Seeing pictures of him from the 70s he does like pretty imposing.

Mysti normally I would fully agree with you but you cannot deny he seems far better mentally balanced at this tournament and so that mental balance leads me to believe he is seriously contemplating it. And the ease of which he is going to take this title isn't exactly going to get his competitive juices flowing is it?

lets just leave him be. Ronnie will take 6 months off for sure and we will find out if this is his last WC or not later in the year- what ever he says at the end of this event is immaterial, he just taolks what he feels at the time, the shrink backs this up..

The BBC like to bum him at every opportunity they get. It irks me.

the bbc are very decent with certain coverage commentary (wimbledon,golf,football) but this has really has got to me this year
