Basically depth for depth, though I did think we were fine at RB with Richardson, Hardesty and Ogbonnaya but Acho wouldn't have fit the new 3-4 scheme so can't really complain about the deal too much and maybe one of those back ups gets sent off in a trade somewhere during the draft.

Don't understand this idea in my mind this should help him 1 year wonders can happen doing it 2 years in a row is a bonus as it should help show it's not a one off season.

If Hernandez isn't a murder suspect I wouldn't worry, though I guess that can change with time.

Justin Smith has saved the 49ers some trouble by signing a 2 year extension think that means he's under contract until the end of the 2015 season.

Yeah should have added he had 500 less yards in 2012 and this off season he isn't coming off all the records he broke. I know it's a stretch but in a way it makes sense. I suppose what I mean is he's not the hot thing right now.

With Hernandez in serious poo and Gronkowski having a surgery a month it really does make the decision to replace a reliable guy in Welker with an injury prone Amendola look worse.

Welker landed in the only other place he had success, no one could have predicted the Hernandez thing. Things should have been done to replace Gronk, if Brady can produce a great passing attack with those guys then he will truely be the best QB in the league!

Its not as if Hernandez is ironman on the field himself however. Paying Welker a little bit extra might have been worth the adverse risk.

I think it was the right call at the time, I know the Pats drafted some WRs but it's asking a lot for them to perform straight out. You imagine they won't put as much emphasis on two tight end sets and the like now. Brandon Lloyd is still out there isn't he? Laurent Robinson could be good if he is healthy.

I think it's the right move. As GSC said already he's gonna get an obstruction of justice charge due to his actions, but those actions are not really the actions of somebody who knows he's innocent now

Whatever level of involvement Hernandez had in this I hope he gets punished to the full extent of the law.

The Patriots have lost a valuable and talented player but we'll move on as we always do, wouldn't be surprised if we are just fine.
