We won another game last week! 27-23. A drubbing. But I went to the England v Ireland game on Saturday so I didn't play. We lost though so I have made the natural assumption that without me they are rubbish!

We are playing our local rivals on Saturday. They are second in the league and about 25 points better off than us. It is going to be a crushing defeat I think.

I don't think this is accurate. They kill them and then take the bee grubs back to their own young. I don't think they eat the bees.

The bees tempt the hornets in to the nest. They goad a hornet scout to enter the hive and then then thousands of bees pounce on it and beat their wings to raise the temperature around the hornet. It raises it just enough to kill the hornet without killing any of the bees. It is a fantastic spectacle.

Problem is, the hornet scout has already left a scent for his buddies. The bees go to the part of the hive that the hornet has scented and try to eat the scent away. They can never do it quickly enough though and the hornets arrive en masse and decimate the bees before stealing their young to feed their own.

Nature is brutal and beautiful.
