Chiefs look set to sign Leinster second row Dunne a 6ft8 122kg 21 year old for next season. Hasn't played this season yet due to an ankle injury. Replacement for one of the outgoing internationals it seems.

Just what we need!

At least your youngsters will get lots of game time.

Cameron Neld going to Glasgow till the end of the season. Good to see another Worcester player getting a contract and good for Glasgow, whose two OSs are long term injured.

Nield is a useful squad man. Body on the line and unafraid of hard work, that type. Never likely to be more than a squad man but he can play flanker and hooker which is always handy.

That's a large amount of signings for Bath....circa 500k plus you would imagine. It's really surprising they've managed to find such space.

Injury dispensation limit is £400k and they've easily had enough injuries to allow access to all £400k.

6 Ted Hill
7 Sam Underhill

There are some excellent back row combinations now and next season -

Quins -
Chisholm/Lawday
Will Evans/Kenningham
Dombrandt

Gloucs -
Akerman (Jordie Reid or Ludlow if we want EQP)
Polledri
Mercer

Saints -
Lawes
Hinkley
Ludlam

Justin Clegg has retired to pursue a law career as well. A shame as I thought he was a bit of rough diamond. I thought he had a lot of talent as a lineout lock who got about the field well. When Wuss went under I half expected him to be the sort of player Sarries would pick up and suddenly he'd be noticed by far more fans and pundits once in a stronger team.

I thought Clegg would have been the ideal pick up for Quins personally. They need a lock and don't seem to have much cap (rumoured to have offered Launchbury only £60k). A big unit like Clegg who's 6ft8 and 19 stone but mobile enough to play 6 as well as lock would have been ideal for them especially as he's a decent lineout jumper as well.

I think he won the PRL community award last season as well. Would have been a good bloke to have at a club.

Only Hill and Lawrence ( using some of Faletau and Watson money) have been given long term deals, the other four are injury cover until the end of the season. If they stay beyond that, it will probably be at the expense of a current Bath player.

I wouldn't be surprised if the injury dispensation would comfortably cover the lot for this season and then there's new contracts kicking in over next summer for the long term signings. Bath are in a squad rebuild stage it seems to makes sense to move some on when you're gaining some top young talent.

Sam Wainwright to Scarlets on loan, until the end of the season.

Saints backrow is far more likely to be Lawes, Ludlam, Augustus. Coles also plays 6 for Saints (with Ribbans, Moon, Wilkins who also plays 6, Salakaia-Loto, plus a number of youngsters Saints are well set with locks) and we have Scott-Young as well, Hinkley and Graham are support.

What sort of contract? Scarlets announced that they've only signed him until the end of the season, can one assume he is set to become a free agent then? I assumed it was a loan from the way they worded it.

On a short term deal, presumably cap related. Might get some game time on the flank as well as hooker. We aren't short of numbers in that department but Borthwick has seemingly struggled to trust any of the hookers bar Montoya and Clare so far this season though Dolly should be back around the start of the new year.

As much as I rate Oghre it would have been preferable to sign a centre. I don't rate Spink particularly highly but we could certainly use him instead of playing Potter at 13 again.

I rate Oghre but his set-piece needs a lot of work. Great around the park though. With Dolly still rehabbing, Taufete'e injured and Horton presumably about to finish his short term deal it makes sense though.

As Sam says we need a solid centre though. I was really hoping we'd nab Venter from Wuss but he's back in SA. Burger Odendaal would be a good pickup and has the bonus of a glorious name. Up there with Lovejoy Chawatama.

Yeah KC Venter would have suited us down to the ground for a short term deal. Odendaal was supposed to be off to Japan, don't know if that went through or not. If not and he's still available that's really odd as he started the season fantastically.

Marler, Walker, Collier
Launchbury, Herbst
Kenningham, W.Evans, Dombrandt

With Lawday/Chisholm/Archie White to cover back row.
Lewies/Hammond/Dino Lamb to cover 2nd row

Starting to look like a capable unit.

Scottish Thistle Podcast, who often have the inside line on Scottish players suggesting that Finn Russell maybe going to Bath next season.

Good move?

Russell - Redpath combo sounds good to me, but that muddy pitch might not get the best out of him in mid winter.

The locals might struggle to understand him as well, most Scottish people do as well!

Would make sense re Russell. Bath have got a young tyro at 10 who's going to be some player but who maybe isn't quite yet. Could rotate him and Russell. There's an exciting backline for Russell to use as well with Redpath at 12, Lawrence at 13, Tom de Glanville at 15.

Bath have managed to hoover up some of the best young talent from Wuss and picked up Barbeary from Wasps. Could be a more than handy team next season. Not sure how Russell and van Graan would gel though.
