First topic message reminder :

Smith in the back field worked nicely against Ireland. We could interchange him and Steward on defensive duty but keep both in the backfield to receive kicks. Ford dropping in it one or the other has chased a kick up field.

I'd like to see if given a go as the attack does need an injection of something and the AB tactic isn't a bad one. Ruck speed and security needs a big upgrade though as that is the main element killing our attack.

I haven't watched rugby for a while...but it appears the point of the sport is to now jump into oppo players heads to get them sent off or yellow carded, while taking 10 minutes to review it?

Good to see the core of the set piece starting well too. God knows where this team can go.

No red for Argentina, so this is a very uphill task for England.

They did beat Argentina quite a few years ago after Daly got sent off early, but that was a vastly better England team/a vastly worse Argentina side.

I am actually quite pleased that it's Jonker and Raynal. More chance of close calls against us, which means a loss and by the end of the Pool Stages Borthwick will resign and we can get a proper coach who's better than Premiership level.

I thought the Arg player jumping and landing was mitigation. If he doesn’t do that then arguably there’s no head contact. I think it’s a poor call.

He doesn’t have to be upright to make a hit. He could’ve made a dominant tackle by dipping and timing the impact correctly. Or just any tackle where he’s not upright.

Lawes playing well in defence, Mitchell adding zip so Ford has more time to kick.

Kicking is awful so far. No threat in the back 3.....pretty easy for Arg who aren't playing well at all.

Well I'm all for more drop goals. Sadly lacking for at least 10 years.

This really.....dropping from 6'2" to 6' isn't mitigation. Poor from Curry who seemed too eager to impress.

Really impressive game management and Argentina need HT to regroup.

Games like this make me wonder why the drop goal is so rarely used.

Ford is being very astute here. He knows they are playing one man down for the rest of the match, so he is taking control and scoring ooints at every opportunity
