Fair, looks like Hogg grounded it on/over the line first, I didn’t see that angle until the replay.

Carried over by Hogg. Restart scrum 5.

Yes Genge. I was delighted when Genge kept his place in the 23 and even happier now.

No brainer. He was excellent off the bench last weekend and after destroying Sinckler at club level he's done enough to prove his scrummaging is up to par. You want a big carrier on the bench for impact and he definitely offers that.

Game that doesn't tell you anything. Except for one thing
When it mattered the England forwards overwhelmed the Scots.

A very difficult time for Furbank, away to France and then this weather, but \i have to say he has not impressed. He has not been given a chance ball in hand, but he looks like a rabbit in headlights.

Re: Scotland V England - The Calcutta Cup
Well considering at one point we had 67% possession and a large portion of that in the England 22 its an absolute travesty we didnt score anything, regardless of the conditions. Toonie has to step back from attack coach and we couldnt have a new forwards coach sooner. At the moment its fifty phases of Robinson. God I miss VC!

Decent win in awful conditions. England much the better side but conditions made it difficult.

Jeez that was an awful game but Scotland once again not taking chances. Toonies days are numbered.
Congrats England though very good composure to see that win out despite plenty of mistakes themselves.

Absolutely bsando. They should be. The way we're failing in attack I wouldnt be surprised if we got the spoon this year.
Toonie will be gone by summer with any luck.

Re: Scotland V England - The Calcutta Cup
Hogg is a terrible captain. Do Scotland not have anyone better?
These conditions were ripe for a Scottish upset, but he went from screaming at the ref to completely passive and then back again.
Townsend must go (and Hogg as captain).

Ritchie is probably the only other viable option for lack of others. I also thought bradbury had a dire game. Should have been haining. He'd earnt his start, another poor Toonie decision.

Genge's post match interview is fantastic. That's a man being dragged into 'media relations' training on Monday morning. He's a fantastic personality.

He's done it in a few interviews talking very candidly about the media loving to hype teams and individuals up just to tear them down. Also talking about 'loyalty' in club rugby and the abuse individuals can get both in person in and on social media.

Re: Scotland V England - The Calcutta Cup
Well the weather was probably the winner of that match, followed closely by England with Scotland a poorish third.
Unfortunately the days of us thriving in those sorts of conditions are long gone.
One try was always going to win it and unfortunately England scored it!

On the way back from murrayfield, I cannot overemphasise how horrific those conditions were. Just putrid.
Well done to England. 6-2 bench split paid off and overall you just deserved it.
I can't really take anything from that game from a Scotland point of view. Weather so awful that I don't think it's particularly fair to criticise the attack. Neither team passed out beyond 12 and just kicked the crap out of the ball! The Scottish lineout though...
